Does anyone know how to create a new module, and place it in the header? I would like to have a module that I would rotate some text in, but need to place the module in the header. Please help - thanks!

You need to make this module in Joomla, go in the backend to
extensions-module manager and make a new module. After you make this module you can set the module position anywhere you like.
The use of the module depends on what you want.
It's in the basics of Joomla.

I understand that. I know how to make and manage modules...
But I am trying to get the module to show up in the "header" of my Artiseer template... That is my issue. I am trying to figure out how to do that.. I would like to have a module in the top right hand side that will have some contact info (phone and fax).. Just don't know how to make that happen with my template.

Manualy adding:
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="mynewposition" />
in right position of your index.php file I guess

How do I specify where the module would show up though? Like where in the header it would appear..

You can position it from your Joomla.

Garry,
I know how to make the module in Joomla. But I want the module to be on the header (on the right side). My question is, how do I create that module in the header (within the template). I understand how to make a module within joomla, I just need to know how to code it into the template properly.

Yes, we would all like to have a "Header" module postion, exported from Artisteer, such that we can assign Joomla modules to that position. The fact is, there is not a "Header" module supported at this time. I have asked for this to be on the wish list.
If someone out there knows how to modify, perhaps, index.php, if it would work, that would be nice.

right - this is exactly what I am asking. I am asking how do we need to modify the template code (probably index.php) to support a NEW module (in the header). If anyone can help, I am sure RJ and I both would really appreciate it.

Figured it out.

Another post was buried that has instructions. Just make sure you also edit the template.css file to define the parameters of the Div (like where it should be located).

Check this out: http://www.159webdesign.com/demo/1_Page_Demo/
Basically the menu, and flash header use "user3" so just make you header whent crating your template small and then use joomla modules to add a slideshow in "user3".

Yes, see the post : http://www.artisteer.com/Default.aspx?post_id=102114&p=forum_post&topicsPage=5&forum_id=20
Then \aAdd a 'header' module. Download Simple Image Rotator: http://www.joomlaworks.gr/
