I'm new here and may have missed this, but can you open and edit the Artisteer background images or glares with Photoshop?
I know there is a copyright issue with the foreground images, which I would remove. However, I can't seem to open any of the backgrounds or glares, and I thought they were okay to use for all purposes, personal or resell.
Thank you!

In a word, no you can't open or edit them. The files are missing their header information and appear to possibly be encrypted as well.

Generate you theme with Artisteer and export it as theme then go to images folder(in theme files) and you can have access to the images used by your theme.

I would also suggest that you pick options for fullest width and height. That way you get the entire header background.

Isn't a Glare just an Overlay of Glare or Gleaming White Opacity settings, which could possibly be set up in Photoshop using a larger Background Image Size?
I've noticed that the background images created by Artisteer are only tiles.
Sure the downloading times are slightly longer for full background images, but it's just an effect that can be replicated in Photoshop.
Right, or not?
