Hi Lance. No its not working with the regions. I also installed the 2.1 Version. Try to us the Regions but as far i could see is that the user 1,2,3 regions are not showing on the front page in Drupal 6x. Also the banner 1,2 etc regions are not showing on the front page.

I now go back to the 2.0 version and as i do always insert the regions by hand. Hope that it solved soon. :-/

Thanks for the update Patrick, I hope to have more time to test 2.1 on Drupal soon as well. Too bad that's broken, they seem to be working for Joomla but I have not banged the templates around too hard yet so more testing for all systems supported seems to be in order.

Considering Drupal was CMS of the year last year and Joomla barely made it into the top 10, maybe they should spend more time trying to get it to work on Drupal.

I was planning on buying the standard version but only purely for drupal. Guess i'll have to wait.

Hi there Gordon.

No thats the wrong inpression. I use drupal CMS and Artisteer 2.0. myself including for building Costumor websites in CMS style. You can trust me, its a super aplication. Its save me so mutch time because normaly i have to doe the Theming by hand and with Artisteer 2.0 i can fine tune the def. them mutch sooner.

Here is what I do for building a costumore website.

1 - Create the Theme (Looks and feels)
2 - Create some extra Regions by hand (Some samples here in the forum)
3 - Fine tune te system and colors

Sorry but my english is not 100% in writing because i'm dutch.

If u use Artisteer 2.0 it works like a charme. I'm not with the Artisteer team so its not an sales stunt,

Hope that this gives you some info that you conuld use.

I guess I could have been more in-depth. I had only tried a few of the regions and it seemed to be working, perfectly.

I did notice, however, that once you specify, for example, a right sidebar, once the theme is in place, you can't add anything to the left sidebar. I'm sure it's supposed to be that way, It just caught me off guard.

I'll try to work with all of the other regions, today.

So far...

Works:
Navigation
Top 1
Top 2
Top 3
Left Sidebar
Right Sidebar

Doesn't Work:
Banner 1
Banner 2

I'll test more, when I get the opportunity.

Actually, I just tested all of the blocks AND made sure there was content for each. Here's a list of blocks that worked:

Navigation
Top 1
Top 2
Top 3
User 1
User 2
User 3
User 4
Content
Banner 1
Banner 2
Banner 3
Banner 4
Banner 5
Banner 6
Bottom 1
Bottom 2
Bottom 3
Left Sidebar
Right Sidebar

The tests were run on a brand new Drupal installation. No content has been created, yet, nor were there any "special" configurations of the blocks.

Thanks for the update Ed, I think it will be interesting to see what happens when we start banging these templates around harder also to see if they break anywhere or work correctly in all browsers.

I have to confirm having just created several "archive" sites for old projects that Artisteer 2.1 works wonderfully... My experience is exactly the same as Ed Coyne's.

This works!

Sorry I read on the forum just a few comments above that there was a problem with the blocks in Drupal.

I guess that was incorrect. Maybe it was problem other than Artisteer. Though on the joomla forum there reporting problems with disapearing blocks.

From the trial of artisteer i can tell it would make my life alot easier, faulty blocks or not. It seems to make everything so easy and time saving.

So i'm going to get it anyhow.

Gordon and anyone else interested in Artisteer,

It's well-worth the price!

Is it perfect? Nope.
Is it missing some well-needed features? Yup.

However, as new or missing features are reported or requested, as long as they are reasonable and widespread, they seem to find their way into the product.

Support has even been pretty quick to handle most of the "bugs".

Ed Coyne is right and this guys are moving really fast, indeed 2.1 is alot better. it's a little buggy but... i think all of them will be solved if reported.

But i still wait for the linux version.

Just curious ... Question for Ed and other who are having success with ver 2.1 and Drupal....

Do the form Button work correctly-- ie try to update an existing story and hit SUBMIT - does it save the changes?

I have seen this issue and am wondering if other have it working.

thanks

Ken

CLS,
Forgive me, but I've been busy with some other projects (WP). As soon as I get some time, I'll try to test Drupal a bit more.

Ed,

No need to apologize :-)
I have been in contact with the developers and they have fixed the issues . Check the news page. For what its worth in the less then a week I have been kicking the tires and trolling this forum I have been impressed by the responsiveness of the development team.

My evaluation continues ... and each day I get a bit closer to pulling the trigger.

Awesome product

I downloaded 2.1 today,, very nice work everyone.. New features are great . I
I have not tested with panels as of yet but because of all of the extra regions, the need for panels is much less. Regions collapse as said, thats great.

One question though, how do I get rid of the footnotes at the bottom ex: contact , terms of use, trademark...

Oh ya also noticed the meta data works correctly now, works with the drupal settings ex: comments and author info etc.

Ok the artisteer docs answered my footnotes question. Just change the footer message in drupal admin, as soon as you add anything the old message goes away.
