Modules Not Collapsing and Banners Not Showing

Hi.

I made a template last night and placed it on a test site to check its functionality with collapsing modules and banner block placements.
The modules couldn't be collapsed and none of the banners would show.

Any suggestions?

If you're using Artisteer version 2, that's how it is. A big fail according to some. I need the banner.

The version 2.1 http://www.artisteer.com/?p=news release seems to fix some of those issues, although the "banner" position is still not working for me.

Cheers

I am using the new 2.1 version. Downloaded and installed it yesterday.
That's why I am posting today that these are not working for me, but seem to be working for others.

I think what they mean by collapse is when the module is not being use it will not display. The size still seems to be set to a specific pixel set.
But now the banners do work! Create a new template and install it then have a look at all the new placement blocks. Adding "index.php?tp=1" to the end of your url will allow you to see the collapsed blocks with their names.

Example:
http://mydomainname.com/index.php?tp=1

Works great I am going to get busy on some new templates.

The banners do not show. I have tested it on a fresh Joomla 1.5.10 installation and have all the banners enabled and the block positions enabled but they do not show. The links under advertisements show fine but not the banners.

If you're trying the template on an existing site, see what module position the Artisteer template requires to show the banner. Then make sure the banner module is in that position.

modules sometimes completely disappear when you change templates, just because the module positions of the template can be drastically different.

Yes, check what module position the banners are currently assigned to.

I'll post this under general as well but if it helps I put together a short video intro to version 2.1 as well as some additional information here: http://tinyurl.com/Artisteer2-1review

As far as I remember there will be 3 or 4 banner positions assigned to the template starting with banner1, banner2, etc.

Guys,

I know what positions etc are there. I have been fiddling with Joomla with 3+ years.
The issue at hand here is they are NOT showing in the templates I develop from Artisteer.

I noticed the same thing with new version - top1,2,3, bottom 1,2,3, disappear when you hoover over top menu (user3) in IE7 (fine in Mozilla)

Danno,

After I created six banner modules I assigned one to each position. All the banner positions are working for me when served from within Joomla. Are you using externally served banner ads by any chance? Thanks in advance.

Exactly audra, the problem with the module positions top1, top 2, top3, and bottom1, bottom2 and bottom3 is known. These items will disappear when I hover the mouse over the menu in user3 drive. I have the problem and expect Artisteer written by Paul Hudson an answer (thanks Paul!). I hav IE8...

sorry my englisch, i'm a swiss (german)

The emails are fine, and knowing some of the users here I'm sure you will post their response to you if you get one.
Bugs can be reported by email but informing the users should be done somewhere on this site. The Artisteer staff needs to take a moment to stop in here and at the very least acknowledge the issue and hopefully give us a general time line until resolution. It would go a long way to fostering good customer relationships if they would provide an official authoritative response.
Informing the users is their responsibility, not ours.

Sorry for going off topic and getting snippy.

Lance,
I feel exactly the same way, just simple acknowledgment about a problem from Artisteer would be sufficient for me. I'm willing to wait for the solution (I don't think I have other choice - they already have my money :-P) but not knowing what's going on - are they working on that particular bug or should I figure it out myself - drives me nuts.
I included module positions before, I'll do it again - but since it's now offered by Artisteer, it should work properly.

I too am unable to see any Banner modules, or top and bottom modules using 2.1.

After I create the template and export it, I can clearly see the module names in the index.php file and I can see the new modules listed in the XML install file, but they do not show up on my fresh installation of Joomla! after installing the template.

I'd been adding modules manually and was excited to learn about this new feature in version 2.1, but I am terribly disappointed, can't someone from Artisteer address this?

:(
My only gripe about Artisteer is that when you create a template if not using the right or left modules the content will not fill the space. Hope that can be resolved soon whereas they are nice templates but worthless if they don't do that. Too much work to add hoc more code to get them to do it and defeats the rapid development time sought for templating in the first place.
