The artisteerhelp.com phpBB forum is currently online.

In order to connect Artisteer users with each other in ongoing discussions and provide a format in which tutorials and such can be stickied this forum was made available. The goal is to assist each other by sharing information within the user base. The content and structure will be dictated by end users.

As a brand new site, contributors, moderators and assistant administrators will be needed. After you have registered on the site please feel free to PM me if you feel you can commit to any of those roles.

Although the site will allow users to enjoy additional forum features, it will remain important that those involved continue to support user questions within this forum.

PS...I expect Dan E. to be the first one there since he poked me about it. (Or was that a double dog dare?)

I'll create a separate post as well but I will say it in this one, I will probably be spending most of my time over at Artisteer Help and very little time here from now on.

http://artisteerhelp.com

I'll admit I started out as a naysayer when the first version of Artisteer came out but as the early 2.0 betas arrived, Artisteer really stepped up to the plate and listened to feedback from the users.

With the new Artisteer Help site, Lance proved that you can get a nice functional forum up and running with all the bells and whistles with minimal effort.

I will see you all over at the new site and congrats to the new Artisteer Help team!

Dan

Just as a note, this forum isn't going anywhere and will still be here to answer your questions, issues and general help regarding Artisteer.

The forum for the Artisteers User Group will be online on Wednesday, March 1, 2008. The forum is phpBB3.

www.artisteerusersgroup.org is the URL.

While this is the "unofficial" users group for Artisteer it has been organized with permission from Artisteer.

Additionally, a survey is being prepared which will help guide the direction of the AUG and help determine what kind and level of interest is among the respondents to the survey.

Sorry Herb200mph, no offense but you hijacked this post by putting in a link to and promoting your own site, the point of the post was to inform people about our new user group and forum at http://artisteerhelp.com - You have already started your own post promoting your new site.

All Artisteer users should utilize all the available resources (forums) and/or help sites to increase their knowledge of the product and use.

It matters not to me "where" this information is. In fact, having mutliple resources is good for the user and the expanded use of Artisteers.

Thisis kinda silly, don't you think? In all fairness, THIS is the offical support site for the software.

As I posted in herb200mph's announcement post I agree with him totally. The more that we as end users can expand and support each other the better.

But I also agree with Dan. Just out of courtesy it would have been better for herb200mph to bump his own thread announcing the March 1st launch of their forum rather than post it on the http://www.artisteerhelp.com/ announcement thread.

I also agree and disagree with Marc. This is the official Artisteer support forum. As such I still participate here despite spending time on the artisteerhelp.com site.

Where I disagree a bit with Marc is calling this a support forum. With the lack of function and moderation it is more like a fancy shout box which is easy to get lost in despite the search function. Another unfortunate aspect of this forum is the lack of an official Artisteer presence. I realize that the Artisteer staffs time is well spent on further developing the product and that spending time managing a forum can be time consuming. But I counted less than a dozen "official" posts. The support part has come from the user base. They should work on improving that.

Lance,

I do wish you guys the best of luck with your forum. The more places people can turn to for help is great.

But, with that said, this forum has users who answer questions on behalf of Artisteer. When we see an issue, we either forward it to Artisteer ourselves, or direct the customer to contact support@artisteer.com directly. The support staff doesn't post here often, not because they don't want to, but because there are users here who answer the day to day questions for them... and leave them to work on the more challenging issues with bugs and serious customer errors.

Do I wish that the forum was a little more robust? Sure, but I work with what they have.
