New Templates Always Overwrites Old Adjustments

Hello Artisteer-Community & Coders,

I love the features and the modified look in Artisteer v2. BUT every time I generate a new template and upload this theme to my WordPress directory, every source code (style.css, footer.php, ...) modification is overwritten. Naturally. :-(

BUT I would love a feature in the future, where fine adjustments can be made and saved in an Artisteer project for future use. Not in the generated theme, but directly in Artisteer.

Then you can benefit from a new Artisteer version with a single mouseclick, not doing all theses sourcecode modifikations on the exported template again and again.

Think about it! ;-)

Regards,
Frank

I agree

everytime I have to change the footer.php
into a clean one without Artisteer in it ;-)

The Artisteer program CAN be altered so that your "footer.php" will always be the same... and other pieces of code as well.

You can also save the Artsiteer theme as an ARTX file, so you can tweak it and output it again, over and over.

I save modifications as templatename01, templatename02, etc.

Each one gets copied up to the server as I go, so I always have the new version AND the old version. Once it is all tweaked, I delete all the themes and only put up the finished one.

If you want to modify the 'assembly files' that Artisteer uses to do an export, look here:
C:\Program Files\Artisteer 2\Library\Data\Templates

You will see the different areas that Artisteer uses and can make modifications

WARNING - Modifying these files can BREAK your installation of Artisteer. MAKE BACKUPS IF YOU CHOOSE TO TRY THIS
