The banner is the same image with some unexpected and unwanted differences. First, and really disturbing is the color shift. I am loading the very same image to Artisteer and as it loads and displays it, the color changes. The second, is the quality of the image. As you see the original has crisp lettering, where the one Artisteer renders is fuzzier. The original image is 900x123. The Artisteer header is 125 pixels high and the sheet is 900 ixels wide. So the image should fit comfortably. However, the image does not fit and I have to cut one side. I can live with that but not with the first two issues.
I will greatly appreciate if someone could tell me how to fix these problems.

I accidentally found the color shift problem. For some reason, the "Recolor/Tint" was set to something other than none. I am all set there. Size and crispness I cannot understand.

I worked around the problem by uploading the same image from the Web site and modifying the CSS tiny bit to accommodate the 2px larger image. I am surprised that nobody noticed the image degradation when imported to Artisteer before. It is quite troublesome.

Depending on what kind of image you use and where you use it, you will get varying results.
Header images tend to work better if they are PNG files.

Cemal,
I am not sure what version you are using, but there is a feature when you insert from file to have the header adjust to the image as well the image size to adjust to the header size, if you choose have the header adjust to the image size I think you will find that your images will show crisper.
Hope this helps,
Ryan

Thank you both. I am using the Home version of Artisteer, version 2. It is exporting the image smaller and making it fuzzier. I will certainly try a PNG to see if that makes a difference, and let you know.

I am reporting that the use of PNG format as the input file did not make any difference in the quality of the exported header image. My workaround is to upload a cleaner copy of the header image after the export. I think this problem should be addressed so that it does not require this workaround.
