Hello all,

Some good looking sites around.

My site is www.tangit.co.uk
Tangit is a site to address accessibility needs and provide a support community for anyone that wants it. Im no where near a web designer lol im actually a Youth Worker and this has taken me about 5 months to learn then build. I still have very minor bugs to iron out but the actually workings are now ready for public use. It went live the other day so im trying to get its name out and about. Saying that though i have about 18 members in 3 days.

I used Artisteer 2.1 but then changed it to 2.3 after doing some tweaks

If you like it please help it grow and spread the word. Im not making money from it and probably never will but its the support it can provide people that counts.

Hi Jon,

I think it's a great site and long overdue. I think you could make this site very profitable. Just think of all the establishments that would be happy to buy advertising space on your site. It's quite unique, so go for it. Even better, set up a links page where companies that cater for accessibility needs can get a link in exchange for a donation! Got to be worth a try.

Hi Frank

Thanks for the suggestions and i agree this type of website is long over due especially as it can help many many people make informed decisions.

My first priority is to spread the word and fill it up with reviews because until it has content its not really worth anything

Cheers

Jon

New to Artiseer, and I must say it is really fun. Having made sites from scratch including the graphics, this is a hoot to be able to make a neat header and rely on Artiseer for the fun effects.

Here's my first attempts - keep in mind I just learned Joomla last week.

Comments welcome and suggestions as well. I'm still trying to get a template done with the sheet moved down and a background with images - I'm thinking that's a custom background but then a text logo doesn't have a link at the top. Anyone know how?

Alright, I guess I'll throw one of my sites in here and ask for comments. :) This site is under development for an official launch early next year. It's one of my own sites/businesses to support the radio control hobby and profession.

Site built with Artisteer and then editing done for additional mods and features by hand outside Artisteer.

Comments welcome. Thanks.

I created a basic template in Artisteer and modified in DewamWeaver CS4, I am still working on it.

You will notice a search box in the horizontal menu...

No, not using PNGs. The <body> tag has a repeated gradient JPG and then I match that gradient in a second graphic that contains the header and takes into account the content area container. That JPG is in a new <div> that is set to not repeat and is set to display in the center of the browser.

In Artisteer, I created a template with no header and gave myself 175px of top padding. Worked like a champ and is easy to set up once all the little modifications are all figured out.

Uses, all regular Joomla mods as well as some hand coded mods and also:

Joomlulus
Sideshow Component
Also quick contact

I also sliced the header to add it to the WHMCS platform.

Comments would be appreciated.

Mark

hey,

How did you get your logo to overlap the menu bar? also, whats the trick with having the text "design with innovation" as does on your site

Easy really i dont use a header image its all 1 backround image. You just need to play around in photoshop and change your "offset" in "Sheet" within the artisteer program.

:-) Check my new modified template with a modified right sidebar, I believe this software is a great way to start building a great template if you know nothing about php coading, I am a graphic designer and know nothing about any programing language even do not understand CSS completely, but this software provided me a skeleton (actually more), you will notice how I made little changes in template.css and duplicate some divs to put a background in the middle and one on the top aligned with top nav bar.

I also believe that its still under development stage and expect a lot of improvement in upcoming version.

Bravo Garry! keep it up.

I realy like your designs, you did it all in artisteer? How did you manage to change the header for every page? Please forgive me, I am relatively new to Joomla and have no knowledge of CSS and coding.
I am busy working on realty / estate agency site for a friend and did the template on Artisteer 2.1, would probably change still alot. But have a look and let me know what you think and ideas to improve would be nice.
Thanks

My latest built with artisteer.

A few extra modules/plugins and a workaround for the one color column issue. Would love an idea from a tech head to help me fix the bottom of the content area!

Thanks,
