Site Thumbnail for Facebook not working

I have noticed that the Joomla templates created with Artisteer will not allow me to add the link img_src code (or I should say it does not work) so when I share a link from the site to Facebook it does not pull up the thumbnail. This is on every site that I know that has used artisteer to create a template.

Can anyone tell me how to get around this? I have even tried to add a hidden div when the link img_src didn't work in the head. Even before I added those items facebook did not pull up the first image shown on the site like it usually does.

Thanks!

I tested a few other non artisteer templates and the site thumb came up just fine when pasting a link on facebook.

I cannot figure out why the site thumb will not show for the artisteer generated templates.

me too But I really did think it had to do with this..which version of artisteer did you make your templates with i'm just curious?

From what i was told facebook is alway tinkering with their information and for whatever reason when they did their recent updates they screwed us.

I don’t have a preview for my link.
If a preview is not displaying correctly for your URL, you may need to contact the webmaster of the site you are trying to share to check whether it meets Facebook's requirements.

In order to generate a Share preview successfully, a website must include the following three meta tags in its source HTML:

< meta name="title" content="Article headline here" />
< meta name="description" content="Article summary here" />
< link rel="image_src" href="http://www.example.com" />

Please make sure that this site includes these tags in the section of its HTML. Also, note that these tags are case-sensitive and URLs must be absolute. For more information, review the "Making sure Share Preview works" section listed here.

If you have determined that this site includes all of the necessary metatags but it is still not generating the correct preview, please submit a report here.

I'm quite sure trhis is caused by the same Facebook bug that I described here:
http://www.artisteer.com/?post_id=133141&p=forum_post&forum_id=20
Can be fixed by a small hack in the Artisteer menu.

Sooo cool! Thank you! This has been driving me nuts! All Artisteer templates for Joomla were behaving this way and all other templates were fine.

:-)

:( :(

One of my articles is correctly shared on Facebook, all other are not and I don't understand why :-@
All of them have the same parameters, the head of all pages has the same configuration and the tags needed to see the preview on FB are there.....I'm really puzzled by this :-|

Having same issue. I've tried numerous plug-ins, components, modules as well as the suggested "hacK" above. Nothing fixes the problem. I have the same issue in Artisteer 2.x and 3.x.. FB links to my websites will show description information about my site, but they will not:

- display an image
- replace the "Your Site Name" with the right site name.

Very frustrating. Since other Joomla sites work with FB just fine I place the bulk of the blame on Artisteer...

Try to put "?facebook=1" at the end of your link

example:
