What is Artisteer Export plug-in for?

Artisteer Export plugin exports the design created in Artisteer as a theme coded to fit a specific Content Management System.

Who can develop Artisteer Export Plug-ins?

Developing an Artisteer Export Plugin will require some basic knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery, HTML and CSS. You should also know the inner workings of a Content Management System for which a plug-in is created.

Should I pay a registration fee to start developing Artisteer Export Plug-ins?

No, we do not charge fees for using the SDK, or registering or using a plug-in.

Can I use the trial version of Artisteer to develop a plug-in?

Yes, you do not have to purchase Artisteer to start developing a plug-in for it.

How long can I use the trial version of Artisteer?

The trial version of Artisteer has no time restrictions. You can use it as long as you need.

Can I sell the plug-ins I develop?

Yes, you may sell your own plug-ins via our marketplace or via your website. When you make a plug-in available for sale in our Marketplace, its source code is automatically encrypted to protect your intellectual property.

What protection does Artisteer provide for my commercial plug-in if it is on the Marketplace?

Artisteer encrypts the source code of every commercial plug-in. The images are protected by watermarks when Artisteer is run in the demo mode. You can also specify which files of your plug-in should be available only in the full version.

Can I build custom protection for my plug-in in addition to the default protection?

You can add text watermarks, pop-us etc. to the plug-in.

What is your commission if I sell my plug-ins from your Marketplace?

Our commission is 30% of your plug-in sales generated from our Marketplace.

When will I receive payments for sales via your Marketplace?

Your income from previous month's sales will be available on the 15th of the following month.

What is the minimum payment amount?

The balance of your account should be at least $100 to receive payment.

How can I receive payment?

You can receive payment via Wire transfer ($20 fee), Check, PayPal transfer, or Direct Deposit (for US bank accounts only).

Can I create a free plug-in without opening its source code?

Yes, simply specify the license type when uploading the plug-in to our Marketplace.

I am a CMS owner. Can I create plug-ins for my CMS and distribute them from my website?

Yes, we encourage CMS owners to create and distribute plug-ins for their CMSs. Please feel free to contact our support team if you have questions about creating plug-ins or visit our developers' page

What tools do I need to start developing a plug-in?

In order to create an Artisteer Plugins, you need a purchased or trial version of Artisteer and one of these browsers: Google Chrome (recommended), Apple Safari or Mozilla FireFox.

I have created a plug-in but do not want to distribute it from your Marketplace. Can I distribute the plug-in to my customers via own download location or email?

Yes, you can distribute your plug-ins via your website or email. Your customers will simply need to drag and drop the received plug-in onto Artisteer screen to install it.

Can I use asynchronous JavaScript calls during the export?

No, the current version of SDK does not support asynchronous calls.
