Reading the reply from 2ninerniner2 it looks like it works if you save the artx with a new name and then export!

Hi,
I posted a couple questions that are at the bottom of column 3, so I'll ask them again here if anyone has some info:
This 2.5 alpha - does it overwrite the current Artisteer install like an upgrade?
Does it install as a trial version if the renewal period has expired?
Does it install as a trial if installed on a different computer?

Previous releases have allowed multiple versions to be installed!

Depends if you enter your registration code!

I used Artisteer in early 2009 to start a blog - and worked fantastically. I have not used the Artistseer program since then.
Thought I would update the current layout - when I opened the Artisteer program, it asked to update - and I accepted.
However, it looks like Artisteer has been deleted from my computer - rather than being updated.
What do you recommend?

Hi, Rich,
The first release of the 2.4 did the same with my machine. Windows 7 and system restore gave me a broken version of what I had. Go to this link:

Enter your license info and though your renewal period is probably expired, ("early 2009"), you should get a list of earlier versions for download. Get your version and reinstall. Your license should still work for that earlier version.
When you try to upgrade again, select Cancel for the prompt to uninstall the previous version, then name a different folder for the install. By default it's Artisteer 2 so name it Artisteer 2.4 or whatever. The two versions will exist side by side.

Hi everyone,
I am a newbie to both Wordpress and Artisteer and I am just a little unclear about the how the themes created in Artisteer differ from commercial themes like Thesis etc.
For example, does Artisteer allow for styling of individual pages and posts. Is there a way to achieve this, please anyone?
Any help will be appreciated.

Question for anyone who has already set up 2.5 in a separate folder to keep both versions working on the same computer - does it recognize the license info or did you have to re-enter it? And does this count as your second "activation"?

Yes, it does recognize the license info. And I asked Artisteer support about the license and this doesn't constitute a 2nd activation or license violation as it's still 1 license on a machine.

Thank you Abland, that answers what I needed to know. I haven't installed Artisteer on my laptop yet, but when I get ready to travel that's what I'm planning to do.
I'm really looking forward to playing with 2.5 to see what it will do. Did anyone else notice this on the News release?

 i just used a PIRATE MODIFY artisteer to create blogs and works like a charm!!!! also i downloaded for free!!!!
Soryy but Artisteer dont provide solutions then  we have to look around!!! 
my blogs uses dinamic flash headers,, submenu items and image menu!!!!

Some of those cracked Artisteers have crappy addons and iframe injections.

If you use cracked software you deserve what yo get. However, seriously have a look for those i-frame injections. They not only make your site a waste of space but can potentially put all the sites on your server at risk. Anyone cheap enough to use a pirated version of a 200 buck package is obviously using cheap shared hosting.

I tried adding a contact form using the Plugin Contact 7 and when I added it to the WordPress widget sibebar panel it erased all the original widgets that were there and didn't look to good. I look in the Artisteer 2.4 version for how to add a contact form on the sidebar and I could not see anything. Is there a way to do this and can you add other widgets and not destroy the stuff already there???

It is default behavior of Wordpress, when you add your first widget all default widgets go away, you need to add all desired widgets to your sidebars manually going: Appearance -> widgets.
For example you already have two widgets search and pages, when you add text widget you need to add all three widgets (search, pages and text) to sidebar instead of just text widget.

I want to know if there is the ability to enable and disable the sidebar on pages. So that one page has a sidebar and another will not have a sidebar. I really need this functionality. Is there a way to do this?

Artisteer doesn't have option to create additional page templates but 2.5 version export an additional page template without sidebars.
