Hi Everyone,

I'm new to Artisteer and have just bought it.

I've only got V2 on my PC - is there an update feature somewhere in the software for me to update to the version everyone is talking about ?

Regards
Jane

If you are designing websites and have no rudimentary knowledge of websites, photo editing, php, html or css then you are fooling yourself. Artisteer won't help you and neither would Dreamweaver.

Artisteer helps with the redundancy of creating the CSS sheets. Nothing more. I consider it a bargain.

One week and end of november. Any news from newer 3.0 version? (new preview or beta, maybe RC or RTM?)

Yes, we have good news.

Four users in this topic asked about Fluid Header with Fixed Sheet or Header outside Sheet.
This features should be available in the next update.

Also it will be possible to change "art-" prefix that also was discussed here.

More feature ideas? :-)

I'm liking the direction v3 is taking, but since you asked, I'd like to see:

1. ability to create multiple page, post & category style versions
2. more html5 / CCS3 support, especially @font-face
3. vertical menu fly-out / drop down styling similar to what's available on horizontal menu

thanks!

These new features looks Great!

Seeing that Artisteer are reading and taking on some of the comments and idea's is very positive.

Once the new forum that was hinted about is live :-D :-)

Ability to have searchbox in header, or end of navbar.
Ditto for login box.

I have owned Standard version of Artisteer since version 1. I cannot wait until version 3 is released.
Whoever feels version 3 offers nothing new is Greatly Mistaken.
I use Artisteer for Wordpress and other CMS as well. But the HTML improvements are nothing short of AMAZING.

Perhaps if you use it for wordpress or another cms only you may be disapointed. But if you are like me and design websites for a living and use all of the features, This upgrade as FANTASTIC.

I just renewed my yearly upgrade licence.

Fantastic news!!!!

Just a small tip: for Joomla templates use site name over typed text (like Drupal or WordPress). Because I change Joomla site name, but this not change on template, because there is a fix title in header. (slogan is not possible under Joomla, this line deleted or manually added).

An other feature what I'll see in future: add manually new block, like static HTML/webpage creator for custom layout in 3.0 version.

3.0 verson (a little) compatible with Joomla 1.6, but get error with sample database on a few links. But your error has fixed on latest Artisteer 3.0 version. (look News page!)

Yes, of course.
This is in progress.

2. 4 Column Layout

Did you mean 3 sidebars and one content column
or two sidebars and content column devided into two?

this is a minor issue, but the horizontal nav secondary/tertiary drop-downs need the z-index set to something like 1000 - the drop-down menus slide underneath youtube embeds.

thanks!

Just a suggestion: submenus will be with style? Not only simple menu format, please add style to these too, like button or menu style (rounded or any style).

Accordion effect in the vertical menu where you can place the main link as separator, and other effects in the horizontal menu would be nice. The horizontal menu does not rise suddenly, but with a nice fade as EasyOut or how that is. This one would possibly in some way can still set Artisteer.

Greetings :-)

OK, it's already done and should be available in the next update.

Quote :

This is in process and should be available in 3.x-4.0
It will be Header Editor similar to MS Power Point.
Header Editor will be integrated with Preview:

OK, we will check.

One major issue with Artisteer is it works for so many templates. One user wants increased functionality for Wordpress, another for Joomla and a third for DotNetNuke. I don't see all these individualized chjanges making it into a 3.0 product. Wait for 3.1, 3.2, etc. The ability to use the DNN native menu alone will save me some post-design editing.

The base underpinnings of Artisteer 3.0 are great. Changes to the basic HTML and CSS produced have been excellent. It bugs me that the Suggest feature often suggests some really ugly combinations, but maybe that will keep some people from complaining it looks too stylized. :)

The one feature I would really like to see is integrated image and design gallery management. I rarely use the stock imagery supplied by Artisteer, and would love a simple way to manage additional stock imagery that I do use. And remove that from Artisteer which I would never use.

I'd also love to have a suggest feature that stayed within parameters. Kind of like "Suggest header but use shades of blue" as an option. Or better, a "Don't ever use pink" option. Or even an option to fix certain parameters in place and only suggest around those, like Use Existing Style Sheet or Use This Background.

Looking forward to more, thanks for the work so far.

Jeff

4. home-click free to choose on title-text and logo

I meant:

Currently it's default on an artisteer-generated website, that a click on the title returns to home.
It would be nice that also the logo can be made home-clickable.

Maybe even a free choice of clickable title, slogan or logo would be nice.

May I add
5. Global settings
Another issue I had yesterday is the global changing of styles. E.g. to change all link-styles to red & underlined I'll have to change this separately in Articles, -Header, -Footer, Sidebar etc ... So I would appreciate a global setting

Usually CMS is responsible for content dividing by columns.
Not sure about WP.
For "Website or Blog" Template we plan to implement Content Layout:
http://www.artisteer.com/media/p4/files/temp/Content_Layout.png
For now users can use Tables or modify HTML source.

Can you please provide more information.

Wow those above sound fantastic!

Still awaiting suggestions? Okay! :-)

1. What if one could define sections of the pagestructure which could have different looks within the site (like sections in the new MS Powerpaint 2010)
I mean at least the ability to change colorscheme, headerimage, background-image for each section would be a major improvement.

2. I know we can add icons for subitems in the vertical menu. Can you please implement this feature for horizontal menus as well? (I can not find such)
