Hi there,

I still have the problem that I can't arrange my pages as I want. I tried the trick from Abland, but it's not working at all for me.

If you check my site (www.philippe-der-reiseleiter.de), you will see the menu on the left side. I dont want to have it sorted alphabetical, as you can see year numbers behind the title.

It starts to annoy me really. If you have any clue or idea, please let me know.

Quote Daniel:

There's more than a couple of bugs still in this version. I can't speak to the first one but here's what I've found so far:

2. There is a CSS issue with IE when you show the front page (index.php) or an archive view for that matter with post_thumbnails attached.

Is this the problem that I'm seeing when my home page displays thumbnails in somewhat random order when the actual posts has them neatly in columns? More details are in my post "Home page different than post" also in the Wordpress section. If so, is there a fix?

The home page is scripted to show post exerpts, and those exerpts are limited by what script tags are allowed to be used. In your theme's config.ini you would find:

excerpt_allowed_tags = "a,img,abbr,blockquote,b,cite,pre,code,em,label,i,p,span,strong,ul,ol,li"

In the case of your website, tables are not being processed which means the td, tr, and table tags need to be added as follows:

excerpt_allowed_tags = "a,img,abbr,blockquote,b,cite,pre,code,em,label,i,p,span,strong,ul,ol,li,table,tr,td"

Others have had issues with video, and object, embed and param tags needed to be added to the exceptions.

Adsense users have to bypass the exerpt function entirely.

I notice your site doesn't use a horizontal menu. Did you create two custom menus anyway and associate them with Primary and Vertical? Also, the Primary I have found associates with the horizontal and the Secondary with the vertical.
If your vertical menu is saved under the Secondary menu you should be able to arrange the order in Appearance > Menu

Hi Abland,

why should I have a horizontal menu if I have a vertical one? ;-)

Anyway, I already tried to fix it with Primary and Secondary, but then it totaly "destroys" the layout of the menu.

I already contacted the support, I'll wait for the bugfix next week...

Hi Phil,

Typically a WP site will have a page menu and a category menu - and Artisteer allows you to choose which one is V and which one is H.

Please fill us in on what Artisteer said about next weeks bug fix ?

They keep everyone in the dark so much, sharing any info is useful...

I was attempting to decide if I would upgrade or not, is this usual, with regard to the time it takes to address problems with the software.

Hi, Thomas Bodetti,

If you already have Artisteer running and still within your 1 year renewal period you can install 2.5 to activate and run alongside your earlier version.

When you install 2.5 you'll get the prompt that the earlier version will be uninstalled, and do you want to continue. Just select No and the installation will continue without the uninstall. When it gives you the default install location of folder Artisteer 2, change it to Artisteer 2.5 instead. It will install and when you open it, it's already read your activation code and is ready to go.

This is what I've done and I have both 2.4 and 2.5 running on my machine. I checked with support and it doesn't violate the agreement of one license per computer. I did it this way because, like you, I wasn't sure if I wanted to upgrade or not.

As to response time, I would agree that Artisteer does not announce their updates and progress in an active and ongoing manner, but my experience of my contacts with support have always been good.

@ Thomas

In most of the cases Artisteer fix the issues in its next update.

My submenu items are not showing up. I did offset them slightly to the right but they do not appear properly in the vertical menu, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Amy,

Check your functions.php file to ensure the vmenu.simple is set to false (as in NOT simple).
