I would like the ability to define from within Artisteer the contents of the footer. This would allow me to set up a global footer for all of my themes designed in Artisteer and not have to edit each footer.php after creation manually. This feature would allow any valid (working) html / php code. The default setting could continue to be what is currently in the footer be default now.

I am holding off buying this software until I can customize the footers before I export the theme. If I wanted to to open the files to change things each time I made a change why would I need this software.

A big missing element with this software right now.

This can be done if you edit the 'assembly' files so that the 'footer' code contains whatever code you want.

While you can't edit it in Artisteer, it is simple enough to do, and you only have to do it once.... and every theme after that will contain your foorter info.

Yeah I would have to agree, having customizable footers would be a great addition to this product. I mean there are headers/sheets etc, it couldn't be too hard to add footers to that would it?

I'm not sure the reason Artisteer has not included the ability to completely edit the footer file... that being said there are workarounds presented in the forums that tell you how to edit the assembly files that create the footer file when you export your themes.

You can either modify each theme one at a time or edit the files for the Artisteer program itself, which will cause the footer to be inserted with whatever text and parameters you set.

Please include footer layout options in the next version it would greatly improve artisteer.

For me this isn't a question of editing the text in the footer file. This is a really basic task. What I am talking about is editing the layout / style just the same as you can the header, not being able to do so is very limiting.
