I have ported my photography Web site to WordPress and designed the theme you will see using Artisteer. Doyou have any plans to provide a vertical menu structure on the sidebar?

http://www.keptlight.com/blog/

I am generally pleased with the functionality of the program. I design Web sites that are managed by propriety CMS software and I can use Artisteer to experiment and bring out the shell to refine. I would like the option of a vertical menu structure though, on the sidebar.

How did you insert the "featured section" with your photographs that rotate?

There are a number of plugins that allow you to create flash viewers that contain slide shows like that one.

I'm still working a few kinks out of my first design and first web page in over 10 years, but I'm pretty jazzed.

Started to work on Artisteer this weekend and I'm hooked! Really nice piece of software.

I created a travelblog to keep everybody posted about our holiday to the States later this year. Here's my result:

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to add these to my Artisteer blog:

125x125 ads to sidebar

static homepage that leads to the blog

Is it possible to create these without using a WP plug-ins? By adding code to the uploaded theme for example.

You should be able to add the 125x125 to the sidebar, just add the include before where the widgets start.

On this theme I added a 336x300

I have basically looked at how other WP themes work and then try to incorporate it in our themes.

All very creative!!

I have created quite a few also. My site is now an Artisteer theme. (http://gdscomp.com) I have quite a few posted there as give aways. Also made this one a little while ago (http://atcoghost.com) I even made a magazine style theme although it has additional page templates its still Artisteer. Its a give-away on my site also.

You can always use a text widget to put an ad on your sidebar.Thats the easiest way to do it. As for the home page that is part of the WordPress setup. You can assign any page you create to be your homepage and also assign a page to be your blog page. Like a page named Blog. These settings are in the dashboard under settings > reading .

Here's a work-in-progress) to have a magazine-style effect (influenced by the Arthemia theme). Far from perfect, to be sure. This involves manually creating a home.php page, and adding a couple of simple div's in style.css

Artisteer support has suggested that magazine-style formatting features in future versions of the software (but doesn't offer it yet).
Despite such limitations as its glaring flaw with the notorious menu/categories restriction, Artisteer is great in a number of ways. It'll be interesting to see what its about-to-be-released competitor will come up with.

(Isn't competition great? It'll force all of them to improve their game.)

So here is what I am currently working on:

http://prhslibrary.com/

I know nothing about CSS and PHP and am a bit flustered with the drop down menus. I want my sub-menu items to link out to an outside page and not just create a page within. Is there a way to do that? What am I missing.

Having never used WordPress before OR Artiseer, I am almost shocked at how nice my blog turned out. I figured out how to make a custom header and got that uploaded. The only problems I'm having is:

#1 I cannot figure out how to add code to what is supposed to be a text box at the far right in the header. If someone can tell me how I'd greatly appreciate it! I want to put the "quotes" feature there.

#2 I want to change the format of the index page to a magazine style layout so that more of my posts show without having to scroll through them.

Anyway, the blog is about the issues people have when dating when 35 and over. www.survivingdating.com

I came here looking for hope that this might be the right app for me as a graphic designer looking to put up simple sites. Alas, all your sites look like crap. Looks like web designers and real artists deserve to get paid for what they do, huh? :-D
