Well, about some ten or fifteen years ago I had absolutely zero problems getting a manual software testing job at Performance Lab company - https://performancelabus.com/. I even did some test automation using their record and playback utilities, but that's not all that efficient. I did database testing using SQL a lot, I know and used UNIX commands well, reading log files, you name it.
