I just upgraded a test site to DNN 8.0
And my skin just doesn't work.

Any news on support for DNN 8.0?

(It may not be Artisteer but something else, not sure yet)

Can I please get some sort of response to this request?

I've also raised a support ticket over a week ago, and have had ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER.....

I have a paid up subscription, so am a paying customer and so far the response has been rubbish. I shouldn't have to wait over a week to get a response to a simple question!

In your container ASCX files, you'll need to remove the Register TagPrefix line that references the SolPartActions.ascx file. SOLPartActions has been REMOVED from DNN8. Removing the Register line will fix the problem.

Mike,
do you mean this line?

<%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="ACTIONS" Src="~/Admin/Containers/SolPartActions.ascx" %>

Thanks, Pavel

Disappointing as I get near no response from Artisteer on support queries regarding DNN.

Too many things that don't work and have been requested for years, such as child pages and submenus with responsive sites and the top bar (login. messages etc).

Just pushes DNN users away so no wonder they've not had a stronger community of Artisteer/DNN users growing.

That did seem to fix the containers, but does anyone know a fix for the rest of the skin, so the DNN Host/Admin menu works?

And to fix the sheet/column widths/layout as the update with DNN sends it all smaller and centered?

We have the same issue (see my thread on DNN 8 support).

We are trying to see if there's a workaround.

No solution yet. The site we converted to 8 has been returned to DNN 7 but this can only be a relatively short term solution.

artisteer must address this problem and I have told them that.

I suggest anyone else who's used artisteer to produce skins for the DNN platform you the same because right now, you're screwed!

Same problem...I have made several websites using Artisteer over the years. I haven't upgraded in a while as the DNN support has been lacking and I see no new advancements for DNN only other platforms. Very disappointing as it was a great product and great way to produce awesome skins for DNN.

People at Artisteer....PLEASE reconsider and continue to support DNN!!!

:-) Hi, I had the same Problem. I deleted the line: <%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="ACTIONS" Src="~/Admin/Containers/SolPartActions.ascx" %>
as suggested above. In addition my Events Module did not work anymore. Also the Events Module was not working anymore but with the update to 6.03 it works now perfectly. So far I do not see anymore problems on my site, everything works well.

Jo Pavle, to pomohlo, ale u některých skinů mi to rozhazuje zarovnání.

To update your version of Artisteer 4.3 to work with DNN 8 do the following:
Edit the files: C:\Program Files(x86)\Artisteer 4\Library\Data\Templates\DotNetNuke\Containers\dnn6.Article.aspx and dnn6.Block.aspx to remove the line: <%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="ACTIONS" Src="~/Admin/Containers/SolPartActions.ascx" %>

Now Artisteer 4.3 will export dnn version 6-7 skins that work with dnn version8

Cheers!

I've removed the reference to solpartmenu,

However like David Toohey the ControlBar menu doesn't work, and not much else does to be honest.

I was thinking I could just fix the artisteer generated skin in VS, but it just looks too hard.

I may have to simply create new skins from scratch.

Any one found another product like artisteer that creates DNN skins?

:-<

So I just upgraded a new site I'm working on and went with DNN 8.0.3. Ran across the same issues as everyone mentioned. I got rid of the 2 lines in the ASCX file.

The skin uploaded to DNN and sort of worked. I had to go into a few Portal folders on my DNN install and replace images that got messed up. I see a lot of interesting limitations that I've never experienced with pre-8.x installs. Rich Text Editor fonts and styles are basically non-existent and some of the heading options got changed from what was displayed in the Artisteer screens.

There does not seem to be another tool like this out there but I am hopeful.

ARTISTEER - Do you even care if you loose more customers?
