Hi everyone,

We've updated Themler Desktop to resolve the following issues:

- Fixed installation issue related to MySQL.
- Fixed installation for users having issues with Windows PATH.
- Themler Desktop does not stop installing if Chrome is not installed. The FireFox or default browser will be used instead.
Note: Themler does not support Internet Explorer, Safari and non-webkit Opera. We strongly recommend using Chrome browser.
- We've improved Diagnostics Tool and included it into the Themler Desktop installation.

If you face any installation issues please run Themler Diagnostics Tool (Start >> Themler >> Themler Diagnostics Tool), copy the output and contact Themler support: http://answers.themler.com/Topic/Create?private=1

Knowing issues:

1. Occasionally displays the following error:

Not Found
The requested URL /themler_3383118731/startup/ was not found on this server.

2. Desktop installer some times crashes on start up.

We're working on these issues. They will be fixed ASAP.

The updated Themler Desktop can be downloaded from http://themler.com

Thank you,
Themler Support Team

The Wordpress themes in your directory created by Themler say they're compatible up to WP 3.8.1 Not even WP 4.0? Did you know that Wordpress released 4.3 yesterday? In my company, we hand out content creation to our clients. Sometimes Wordpress can be daunting enough without adding frameworks to it, which is why we really loved Aristeer. Most end-user clients are trying hard enough just to keep up with content creation and in 14 years, we've never had a single client want to tackle theme changes by themselves.

Your product still does not work, version desktop or embedded particularly plugin Drupal plugin ($48) and your team is in complete denial; In addition what is the philosophy of a product whose use is so complex to use that it is faster to make a template manually? What is the expected productivity ?
If Themler is the future of Artisteer it is clear that it is not my future

Are you aware that Themler isn't working at all now on Windows 7 Desktop version?

There are many of us just getting a white screen and there have been no response from the team at all.

Very unsatisfied customer here.

That's why I pursued a refund, this is still in beta yet they want to charge you for it. :-/

Themler has some way to go but already I can see it'll be more powerful than Artisteer in many ways.

If only it wasn't such a battle to make simple changes, use custom CSS names (everything is bd), set defaults for all views (eg. turn off author field across normal and responsive views), not having it crash every time I attempt to copy a widget style to paste onto another widget area and more.

Development needs to continue, and some of the more user-friendly aspects of Artisteer are carried over to Themler, then I can see Themler doing very well.

Loving the Pro version so far but it definitely has issues that need to be addressed.

This is such a shame - it seems like nothing has changed. Lack of development during the last few years with artisteer was bad enough.

And from reading posts on here it seems the level of support and response is also the same (not very good)

Doesnt work on WIndows 7 !! , doesnt appear to work on wordpress 4.x either.

Sorry guys but as it stands Themler is not fit for purpose and will only it seems continue to cost me time and money

Not sure what you people are doing wrong. Works fine on Windows 7 and Wordpress 4.3 for me. So far anyway.

Oh, and since posting my last comment, they've released an update which fixed the Copy Style option crash which now saves me having to manually make changes to every block or section.

It's a different beast for sure and much more complex than Artisteer. I'm finally gettiing a handle on it after 1 1/2 - 2 months of struggling with it.

Alas, today, their whole login side of everything is dead. So can't edit themes either in the desktop or from within the CMS. This isn't good enough. FIX IT please!

The speed of themler is ok but for me the worst problem is hiw to do things in themler. I tried to create a template in it and i found it difficult so i still use artisteer and finaƂy tweek template manually.

Dear Artisteer Team

May I suggest you to launch a poll : what should be your priority for developpement ?
You could keep results secret if you want.
This should at least convince you nobody cares themler, but all your customers would prefer developp artisteer

Regards

No, a stupid suggestion. It's like asking Microsoft to keep updating Windows XP. The same way Microsoft has moved on from XP, the Artisteer company has moved on from Artisteer and completely focused on Themler.

Here are the facts:

1) Artisteer development has stopped and stopped a long time ago. There has been no new release since August 2014. That's over a year and a half and no updates.

2) The only updates have been to the exporter. That was in March 2015. That's 9 months ago.

3) The company is pushing everyone to Themler. The are releasing a big update soon that will address shortcomings.

4) While there have been no updates to Artisteer, there are almost week updates to Themler. That should tell you something.,

5) They know what their sales are and they seem pretty good if you judge the forum activity. They are not going to waste time doing polls on Artisteer.

Microsoft stopped XP something15 years after launching, vs 6 years for artisteer.
XP updates were free of charge, where Artisteer updates were costly
XP end of support was plannified for a long time, but did artisteer communicate about about the end of artisteer ? If I was aware about artisteer end, I would not have invest in upgrades.

I downloaded the new themler beta to test here in Missouri while I was in town. Later on when I was back out on the farm. I installed it on my laptop and tried to test it. It gave me some sort of error demanding an internet connect.

There is no internet on the farm. No cable for that matter. Unless we get a dish. There is only over the air tv.

Anyone else have the problem of the software not working like this?

You're in the wrong business if you're making web sites with no internet. :-P

But seriously, Internet acess is a requirement. Consider getting dial up access. That should be good enough for Themler or Artisteer to do their checks and export themes.

There is no land line. The cells phones work but it's costing $15 a GB for data, So I've not been using that. I'm still in trouble for last month.

Been there myself.

Maybe post on Themler's site directly instead of the forums here.

Wow... after reading some of thoses comments and having the same problems myself I am conviced I,m wasting time with artisteer. I have just updated a site, published it and now its vanished, just a white screen. The editing area has none of my sites in it at all... a massive problem... If its not sorted today... I,m moving elsewhere, can,t afford the hassle or cost with artisteer...

I changed to Themler about a year ago. It's been downhill since then. My advice is stay away. There's some issue trying to edit on the desktop version, which, BTW, will NOT work if you have no internet connection - at all! Had internet go down for over a day so thought I would build a couple of themes. NOT!

Support has slowed to a crawl (if they don't tell you your post was "invisible for the last 3 days" - yes it happened). Obviously they're stretched as thin or more than Artisteer.

I'm giving up on Themler. Nice concept, really poor implementation.

I've never met an end client that was ever happy with a Joomla site.

I've switch many a client to wordpress.

Joomla is always a bad idea for the average Joe to end up stuck with.

95% of clients wouldn't know a Wordpress from a Joomla from a Drupal from a static website. And they don't care. What they want is a designer who listens and a website that works. Your statement about Joomla "always" a bad idea is nonsense.

You must be a lame webmaster or bad designer. Wordpress is a pile compared to Joomla and you are just lazy giving them Wordpress. Either that or you have 2 clients who are computer illiterate.
