Please clarify this question I have about artisteer. So from my understanding in the new version I can add content. Ok, so when I export the site and import into wordpress with content enabled, what would happen if I add more content in wordpress (text or images)?

Do I have to go back to artisteer to add content or images or how will wordpress handle the new template if I changed things on the artisteer side?

Thanks for helping.

Hello Sean,
yes, you can add content in Artisteer and then import it in WP. You can edit the imported content and edit it directly in WP as you're doing for the rest WP pages and posts.

Thank you. So I guess once changes are made in wordpress, making changes in artisteer should only be made to making new pages?

That's not entirely accurate... When you create content in Artisteer, you do so because you want special formatting (styled divs, special fonts, colors, etc)... like a custom home page that doesn't use the standard sidebars. When you export that content and activate it, if you add content using the standard wp admin, it isn't lost if you add a new template (you have the option to add or overwrite).

You can of course use the artisteer app to create new pages if they also require special formatting... if they don't you can use the standard WP page/post editor. You can also duplicate the css values of the artisteer created content and create pages with the new div IDs you just created (by far the better solution than going back to artisteer to create new content).

Thank you so much. If the client adds content to the site, text or graphics, what assurance can I give them if they wanted a something changed on the pages they were working up. Assuming they mess it up in wordpress?

Artisteer is a great application capable of a lot, but one thing it really shouldn't be used for is content creation for sites you do not ultimately control. I write that with the caveat that it can be used for content creation if you're able to recreate the css for whatever in application pages you create (and import as content in your WP admin).

I do it all the time... create content for clients and then recreate the css for those custom pages and reuse it when necessary (for new pages based on that design), but not all artisteer users are capable and certainly not all clients have the ability to copy css and reuse divs for custom pages.

Really it depends on those things... is your client html and css savvy? Are you?

If answer no to any of those, I'd really avoid using artisteer as a content creation tool if for no other reason than you have to constantly use artisteer to edit previously created pages.
