Vertical & Hotizonzal menue issue |

Hello Folks, i have some troubles with customizing the vertival and horizontal menu. I want both menues to show idividual color for each menu point. i've searched & tried a lot of tweaks, but i cannot get the css customizations to work. I use custom menues in a widget in Wordpress and even after i set an own class my customizations don't get to work. Here's a link http://www.efa-waerme.de/wordpress/?page_id=34. i need the "Bereich Sanitär" vertical menu to get a blue background.
Any suggestions?
