Just a question with the New Wordpress 3.9 coming out soon.....does anyone know if this will effect the artisteer themes?

Now that WP automatically updates the core files I just wanted to be prepared for a mass day of destruction :) IF there is a problem/conflict between WP 3.9 and artisteer (all themes old and new )

Has anyone done any beta testing?

Looking forward to your thoughts?

Cheers

Artisteer support reacted as follows:

Unfortunately, we can't update you on this right now as we are also waiting for new releases of WordPress and other CMS to see what's changed and test against Artisteer templates.

Thanks but beta releases are frequently unreliable predictors for the final release.
Once 3.9 is released we'll address any incompatibilities.
Since the wordpress plugin is on our servers we can probably patch the plugin without having to release another version of Artisteer.

Anakyst - Thx for your response I would love to test but at this stage time is an issue for me and I was hoping that Artisteer themselves were testing

Cees - Appreciate your update from Support.. Fingers Crossed

Do not panic!

By default, there is one line of code in the wp-config file, which tells WP how to behave as far as automated updating goes. By default, WP will ONLY do minor updates, because usually nothing breaks during the minor updates. Some examples of minor updates are, from 3.8 to 3.8.1, from 3.8.1, to 3.8.2 etc… Tomorrows scheduled update is a major one, from 3.8 to 3.9. If you were expecting for all of your sites to automatically get updated, you will be disappointed. Now, you can configure WP to turn off the automated updating completely, or to even expand it to also update the major updates as well (ie: from 3.8.3 to 3.9).

You can disable automatic updating of WordPress by adding this to your wp-config file.

define('AUTOMATIC_UPDATER_DISABLED', true );

I prefer to have control over what gets updated. But also have several sites that have auto updated WordPress with no problems so far.

I have updated several of our Artisteer sites to 3.9 with no problems whatsoever.

same here, 3.9 is looking good so far. Only thing I can see is that the Preview function is not working correctly and neither is the Publish button. It does actually work except it asks you if you want to leave the page as there is unsaved data which there is not. Bit odd really.
