Of course there will be. Let's get the bug fixed and worry about new stuff later. Just my opinion. They seem to be working hard at fixing issues and perfecting the 4.2 version now.

We would definetelly welcome a responce from Artisteer team with some more specific plans. There are various bugs in 4.2 that make our lives hard.

I really dont know if you are doing yourself some favor with all this server change-updates.

For majority of the people it will look like you dont do anything new on Artisteer. And it could ruin you more than pirated copies.

From the other side we can update the plug-ins every day if needed. So you don't need to wait for the next Artisteer update for a week or month to get the bug fixed. I think it's more comfy, isn't? :-)

That's what you say but is it true? Seems like you can now hide the lack of updates by saying it's on the server. We'll never know unless you post them. Last time you did that was Nov 13.

Where are these weekly or monthly updates?

Helga, i am not talking from my perspective. Despite i have to admit that i am as junkie and miss "News" updates. :-)

I am just saying how majority of users might perceive this.

The updates do seem to be real. They updated the Joomla 3.2 editor screen on the server and my sites were fixed with new exports.

Still a bit of news would be nice, actually a roadmap would be killer!!!

The whole being able to update the exporters now that they're on a server stuff is untrue. They always had the marketplace and could have been updating the bugs in their exporters without pushing out new versions of the software. This ability has always existed and they hardly updated anything, there's little reason to believe they will start now. They update Joomla for the new version, that was a necessity, but will they update anything else? And in a timely manner? I'm sorry, but this is not a reason the online export is better, it's exactly the same.

Thanks for your feedback! We will do our best to notify users about each update providing the list of bugs that were fixed. We plan to add an alert to the software itself and post updates on news page and on the forum.

Hi Dave and everyone!
when Helga wrote about new update and bug fixing it meant that the main changes are related to CMS specific export plugins. And we're updating them. Lately the Joomla export plugin was updated. As now the export functionality is moved to server this plugin update did not require Artisteer update on user end.
Also notice that special posts are created in CMS specific forum posts where we'll notify our user about the latest updates. E.g. Joomla post is

I suggest that you should make a free version which only can export html.
Buy this way, the users will be more and more.

Artisteer is under lockdown, the updates are far and few between, the last major update was virtually entirely for the developers to protect their product in an unreasonable fashion. The forum is underlock down and accepts no new members. It is also now heavily censored and any mention of any other product is removed.

This whole thing which at one point seemed so promising has turned into a software concentration camp. I would like to get back to using artisteer but we see, and we hear of no relevant changes coming forth in the future.

A very disappointed customer.

Thanks for you posts and sorry to hear the disappointment.
I'll try to clarify some moments:

@Life Ok - it's 3 months since November 19th.

@Anthony :

Why doesn't it? There is no registration form, so all users can post questions.

That's true and this is a common forum practice and common forum rules - http://www.artisteer.com/?post_id=231779&p=forum_post&forum_id=19

We're really sorry that we can't release new versions as often as some of the users expect to. Every new version is bigger and contains more features, maybe therefore sometimes it takes longer to release new updates. However, we hope the next update will cheer you up. We work hard on it and appreciate your patience.

Deleting posts that mention other software products is far from "common forum practice." In fact, Artisteer's forum is the only forum where I've seen it practiced.

I belong to dozens of such forums and in nearly every case, the software producer clearly feels that their software is so good, they don't have to worry about it. (And they're usually right).

Real professionals enjoy discussing the tools they use with other professionals, because all of us have more than one in the bag.

Whoever told you it was common forum practice is misinformed. From my perspective it makes the company look amateurish and insecure.

KeithAdv, we don't think you are quite right with it: actually, we DO NOT remove posts with the references to ANY products that Artisteer forum members mention in discussions, such as plug-ins for CMS's, grahic editors, CMS's themselves, virtual machines, frameworks, other applications. What we delete only, are:
1. Mentioning of third-party products that can in a certain way compete with our application;
2. Advertisements of other products, not related completely to Artisteer or web design, such as those about products for "losing weight", "keeping teeth white", Blu-Ray devices and other.
This fully corresponds to our Forum Rules, that stays in public at http://www.artisteer.com/?post_id=231779&p=forum_post&forum_id=19

This defenitely IS a normal Thing in ALL Forums.
I´m very active person in web, and its not allowed to discuss 3rd party products anywhere.

And i think thats fair. If you dont like a product - go ahead to another company.
But dont discuss this in forum.

I appreciate the correction, Antonina!

I honestly didn't know it was common practice for software forums to automatically delete posts that mention the name of a competitive product.

Could you give me an example of one, besides the Artisteer forum? Any professional software producer in the design, audio, or video production fields will do.

Thank you!
