Hello,
we're aware of the problem with export functionality and we're working on a solution. Export will be restored as soon as possible.

Hi,
the export related problem has been resolved on our end.
However before exporting you need to reboot the router.
If you do not use router then please reboot your PC.
Then start Artisteer and test export functionality.

If you encounter any problem with exporting please contact Artisteer support at http://www.artisteer.com/Default.aspx?p=support

I'm glad it's been resolved. However, damage's been done as my client does not care about (and should not have to be at the mercy of) your servers.

What happened to the earlier versions of Artisteer? It did not require you to be online to create a theme. That's flexibility.

Now I can only take my laptop to places with wi-fi. Even then I'm dependent on their wi-fi being on (and your servers, of course.) That's severely limiting.

Think about it. What other software makers do what you're doing? Imagine typing a letter in MS Word but you can't print it unless Microsoft's servers are up and you're connected to them. That's exactly what you're doing to us.

I personally feel I'm being ripped off and seriously looking for alternatives.

Im getting this issue and it's a pain in the arse, this is what artisteer told me to do but i have no clue about how.

I work from home so all i ahve is windows 7 firewall and a router so i disabled both and it still gets teh same error so the anti virus liek they say and still no joy, does did anyoen work out how to sort this out as i cant affor dto get a reply from artisteer then wait half a day to reply etc etc.

Artisteers support reply (thanks for nothing)

You need to make sure that you do not have anything, e.g.
firewall, antivirus, proxy, etc.
that may be interfering with your network.
Starting with 4.2 you have to be connected to the web to export templates.
You can find more information about this on our news page.
If you are behind a firewall try adding these addresses as exceptions,

54.218.114.90
54.213.148.235
54.218.66.112

Best regards

:( Sadly, this is likely only going to get worse since Artisteer is in the Ukraine. As long as Russia is trying to take them over I'm not surprised by resource issues, and likely we'll lose Artisteer if Russia does take them over.

This is the Main reason I did not renew my subscription knowing that 4.2 relies on their servers to connect and become useless without the connection.

Think all we can do is Pray for them at this point.

I agree and would gladly Pay for the subscription again to get it without the server connection.

It's a Great program!

This is the reason I will NEVER upgrade from 4.1 until this issue has been resolved. I was looking for tips on YouTube today and after searching for Artisteer then sorting by upload date most of the videos were supposedly showing how to get it for free so they are only inconveniencing and alienating their paying customers with this policy. I understand as a digital content provider myself just how frustrating it is to see your work being offered around for free but most of these people would never buy it if it wasn't an illicit freebie so not much lost in sales!

This is crap.

Since the new version, I've been far less engaged on the forum. I guess that when you sow seeds of mistrust to your clients it slowly pervades through your product.

Imagei, sorry to hear this. The measure was taken not as a mistrust to our customers but against hackers. Please see more at our blog-type FAQ: http://www.artisteer.com/?p=c&c=blog_Artisteer_team_FAQ
Please contact us if you have any specific issues related to the online export.

Sadly enough we experience the same issue.

Contacted customer support but no results yet.
If the servers are unavailable, why not (temporarily) allow offline usage of Artisteer?

Our current project is on hold, but our client demands result before the end of next week.

@Veneman IT Consultancy

Must be from your side of the world because it's good here.
Since they started the online thing I've only had one hiccup(knock on wood) and it only lasted about 10 minutes.

I Agree it is really bull that you have to be online to do an export.

I currently working in Asia and the internet here is really terrible. I Almost cannot work here.

I think there are 3 solutions for this problem

1: go back to de offline export again.
2: or during export the server of artisteer are contacted briefly to check the current licenses. and then continue with the offline export.
3: Make a page wehe you can upload your artisteer emplate do the export and download your exported template.

But for now it really sucks.

Kind regards
Robert.

Yeah 100's have complained about the on-line thing but they were censored.
At least Trevor made an off-line export plug-in thats pretty good. You should look into Wp Tuxedo.
