I've searched the forums and haven't found a solution to this.
Why do the front end editor screens always look like this?
I've tried just about everything, even bought and updated artisteer this morning.

I'm told by artisteer support that there is no fix for this and that i'll just have to put up with it, grrrr.

I'm not sure I understand the issue - Is it that the image is only partially visible? If that's the problem, making the window bigger, by clicking/dragging the right bottom corner will do the trick.

Hi you need to describe your problem better.
So we can only guess its a Joomla question not an artisteer problem.

As suggested make the window bigger its nothin to do with artisteer

Maybe I can help explain the problem, as I have the same issue. The problem is the way that the Artisteer template styles the front end editing.

If you enable the default template in Joomla 3.0 (prostar) or above, you will have a very clean layout with tabs for the Editor, Publishing, Language, and Metadata at the top. With the Artisteer template it will display the same items except they are bullet lists with no functionality.

So in short the front end CSS and/or HTML code exported from artisteer does not render the Joomla page correctly when editing from the frontend.

Remember this issue is just related to front end editing layout and Rick has a very good example above. Never mind the picture, that is not point Rick was trying to get across.

If anyone can help with this issue or if someone from artisteer could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Yes - I've had to start giving clients back-end access to edit their content because of this issue. A fix would be most helpful!

Yes ignore the picture, just look at the fact that all the buttons and text boxes etc are just missing, I'm having to give my clients back end editor access, this causes problems because I have to generally show them how.

No fix is in sight either according to artisteer support.
I'm sure that if I messed with the css it could be fixed but to be honest I really shouldn't have to.

Would also like to see a solution for this!
I have users in the frontend who can add certain articles. I don't want to grant them access to the back-end. But the css styling is stupid in the front-end.

Same Problem...
If you have a very dark Picture you cannot see anything.

I'm having the same issues; I've had to use a tooltip absolute positioning style to keep the editor icon from jumping away from the cursor.
Next , I'm trying a workaround by creating a separate "editing" menu that parallels the main menu and has the Beez template assigned to it.
If it works out it will give my users a better editing venue that the one my Artisteer template has...

I have a separate menu I created for my users to add articles, etc. that is only viewable when they are logged in. I've added a copy of the main navigation to that menu and then assigned the Beez template to that menu.
Once users are logged in for editing as long as they navigate to the pages using the Editing Menu ( I could remove the Main menu from that view to avoid confusion), they will be able to have a better editing view.
I also changed the header text out to show they are using the "Editor Mode Template". It's funky but works.....

Contact the web hostig is restriction from them.

No it isn't.
It's a fault in Artisteer and because you can effect a workaround it has been given a low priority for repair by the artisteer guys, they said as much in the email they sent me.

Hopefully they will fix it or my cash is staying firmly in my pocket.

I'll just bump this topic. We have clients log into the front-end to make changes and this bug is a majopr problem for us. I'll be mailing the artisteer team about this as well since this is major functionality I'd expect to work in software we payed for. Rick, you mentioned a workaround, do you have a link to this perhaps?

They have updated something (update server) in V 4.2..0.60623 that has fixed my issue. At least in Joomla 3.2 it stopped messing the layout up.

Tag input is still missing but the layout is much better.
