Thoughts on design elements....

I have been using Artisteer for years and have recently upgraded to version 4. I have been in design and development for 14 years now, and do like Artisteer but feel there are some missing elements.

First of all, it would be so nice if each element that can have a gradient or a texture applied could always access the SAME gradient or texture library. There should be ONE gradient set and ONE texture set (that should of course be MUCH, MUCH, MUCH larger) that is accessed by all elements. This is a constant issue for me as I will apply a gradient or texture to let's say, the header, only to find that I CANNOT find nor apply the same texture or gradient to the footer to guarantee design cohesiveness. That is a MAJOR issue.

Second, as an artist and designer, I find it infuriating that I cannot add my own textures or gradients to the standard library that Artisteer accesses. With textures, this is a bit less of an issue as I almost always have to resort to using my own textures from a file (see design cohesiveness above for the reason why) though I would LOVE to be able to beef up my Artisteer library with some of my favorite textures. You know, just to make my life SIMPLER. Gradients though are where I bang my head against my desk the most though. I cannot use my own gradient for design cohesiveness - I cannot add gradients to a library - I cannot edit a gradient file of any kind AND I cannot access matching gradients between design elements. Oh yes, and I would also LOVE to be able to create and use my own glares that are accessed by the main library function.

Please, for those of us who use Artisteer from a design perspective - to create something beautiful without having to spend two months coding one site, and who know how to tweak to their hearts content, PLEASE add MUCH more to the design functionality and the ability to customize the software. This software has the potential to lead the pack for years to come so long as you allow the designers to actually design and stop catering to the newbies who don't even know how to install WordPress let alone what to do with a theme once they've made it. I understand they are currently a vocal majority on these forums but should you begin to cater more to those of us who actually know a bit about what we are doing, you would find many more developers posting here, many more developers purchasing your software and your reputation as a toy software program (amongst hard core developers) greatly diminished.

I have allot of other ideas but I feel that these are the most crucial and I am guessing, among mo other suggestions, the simplest to implement.

Best wishes,
Tabitha

I, too, have been using Artisteer for years and have wanted these same sort of features. It seems like a Common Sense evolution for a great piece of software.
