please download artx project 4.1 from following link where i roughly converted above website into artisteer project.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/cwkm6ykvly0mr22/bdn_free394.zip

just update theme for font styles and other little things you might wanted to tweak.

header image is underneath menu bar.

for rotating quotation, when you export your theme and activate into wordpress, you will see a Widget area under Apperance menu (wordpress admin dashboard), use any plugin available online for rotating quotations and place that widget into hdr-testimonials widget area at backend. it will stay on top of the image.

please note above theme artx file will be deleted from server the next time i plan to clear up my dropbox.

@Nick

Good idea to control things in responsive mode without using Templateer.

i always use Templateer to export when i am doing commercial work, so that give me control on most of the things to see them responsive.

I liked your idea in other post regarding having two separate menu(one for regular CMS and one for Woocommerce) implementing them..

@blue sky: There is no code to look at. Everything is done within Artisteer, that;s why I pronounced it as BRILLIANT! You can use an image for the site Title provided you follow either one of my two recommendations (workarounds). The beauty of Artisteer is that with little bit of imagination we can pretty much do what we want in record time - Bazish proved it with this example.

@Bazish: The Templateer is just like Artisteer. Excellent product overall, but bloated and slightly buggy. In either case I can work around the bugs, so I can live with them. Customer support for both are from non existent to simply awful. I actually stopped using the templateer about a month ago. My biggest interest was the bootstrap classes, and they only work on horizontal widget areas, so not on the sidebars, which I needed them the most! Both products are very good, fair pricing, but poorly managed, and poorly supported. - what a shame !

The only times I have contacted support is to report bugs. Both products are easy to figure out, and even manuals are not needed for either of them. The support for Artisteer tries to stall and buy time, then they blame everybody else, and when pressed even further, proving that they are wrong, they get defensive and give non answer - answers. Just like politicians.

I contacted Templateer just once to report a bug in January, that was 4-5 months ago... I am still waiting for response. So he does respond to ALL emails, does not have a forum, and tries to even suppress free speech - at least according to richard.

http://www.artisteer.com/Default.aspx?post_id=215040&p=forum_post

BTW: Neither product is an adequate answer to the premium theme seller sites. The themes from those sites have many embedded plugins, like short codes for accordions, tabs, sliders, etc... The templateer added some short codes but are pretty much useless. Artisteer themes even templateer themes are only good for designing sites for our customers, we could never be able to sell them - we would not be able to compete...

I guess it would be a good idea to learn how to embed plugins in themes. Once we do, then we could compete with the likes of Elegant Themes, Theme Forest and the likes. Bud from templateer obviously knows how to embed plugins, but he has to choose more useful ones.

Above should have said "So he does NOT respond to ALL emails,"

Problem finally solved after a day of frustrating debugging.

The trick is NOT to include the code at the END of the functions.php file, but near the top after the initialization and declerations - just AFTER the favicon code:

function theme_favicon() {
if (is_file(TEMPLATEPATH . '/favicon.ico')):
?><link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/favicon.ico" /><?php
endif;
}

@Bazish: I owe this one to you, so if you need help with the implementation of this, I would gladly make a video tutorial for you... If done properly, we can now truly compete with the premium themes, of the likes of Elegant Themes, Theme Forest, etc...

Again, this is to either notify the admin which plugins need to install, and have the links to install and activate them, either from a theme folder, the wordpress depository, or from anywhere from the internet. Furthermore, you can automate the whole process, by installing and activating all the required plugins when you activate the theme. If you choose this method, the plugins will be deleted if you change the theme. There are many advantages of using code, as oppose to embedding the required plugins in your theme.

Nobody else has commented on this topic yet, once you realize what this does, you will find it that this is huge - just like responsive design was to us last August!

Think you guys need to post this up as a separate topic as there will be many here that will greatly value your work. I really do not understand it but I would have concerns about embedding plugins direct into a theme but thats just my being ignorant!!

That's the point of this code blue sky. The plugins are NOT embedded in the themes, but are semi-automatically or completely automatically installed in your WP site. You can recommend them, or require them. Look at the video posted by Bazish and you will understand what;s going on.

Hi Everyone,
I was happy to see the subject of converting wordpress site to Artisteer, I thought the subject is regarding converting wordpress template to Artisteer template so we import wordpress template into artisteer and create beautiful unique design with help of Artisteer. But was sad to see that the site was recreated in Artisteer.

Does anyone have idea regarding what change is required in the wordpress template file and how to add artisteer extension, so that we can import the template into Artisteer. I am sure this will help many people create beautiful unique design from a wordpress template, also reuse their existing wordpress template to create a unique template with help of Artisteer.

Looking forward to hear soon :-)

Unfortunately
right now (and possibly not in future) you can not import already exported WordPress theme into Artisteer and modify it further.

you can only import Artx file's into Artisteer not exported WordPress Themes.

Thanks
Bazish
