I have read many posts on this issue and none seem to have found a real solution. I have been using Artisteer 4.1.0.59861 and Joomla 3.0.1 and now have 3.1.1. Now every time I uploaded a template and imported the content all I get the error. The template uploads quite happily. When I look at the site live I now get 404 - Article not found! When I look at the menu's they are not published, publish them to no avail. I think the issue is at the import content stage?? All was fine not long ago. In debug mode the articles cannot be found, I have read to relink the home page but as it is generated within Artisteer I do not know where to find the article it created.

Article not found

Just one of the errors below....
Call stack
# Function Location
1 JSite->dispatch() /home2/jadenco1/public_html/appropriatehealth/index.php:52

Hope someone has found the solution. I have put a request in with Artiasteer so when it is solved I will let those know that may have a similar issue.

My Joomla folders are set at 755 and files at 644 but no difference.

I agree that the problem is in the Import content stage. I just did a clean install on J3.1.1 and the first import went fine... later when I installed a template update the import failed with "Request failed: 500" response.
Obviously not overwriting the old content .... back to 3.0 for me too.

I put a support request in for it..will post any solutions sent to me.

Also i have noticed while testing this that it takes longer to uninstall all the articles and items then the button clicks

This on second try failed again and i looked at the articles which where still there from the last import.

I checked again in 1 minute and they where gone. tried the import again and it worked.

Something to do with overwriting content indeed.

Just want to add my name to this issue so this thread gets another hit. On J3.1.4. Tried file permissions etc. First import works, second and so on fail. Seems to be an over-write issue.

Will eagerly await a fix.

I got it solved. Simply try using Artisteer 4.2:

I have loaded Joomla 3.4 to my website via Softaculous. I have the latest version of Artisteer. I exported my template and imported it into Joomla. I cannot import my content, I simply get the 500 error. I work directly online and not via a FTP server. Please assist. This is frustrating me. I have done numerous deletes and reinstalls.

Hi Nicki,

What do you mean with import content?
In administrator (administrator/index.php?option=com_admin&view=sysinfo)
Or
System->System Information->Directory Permissions
You can see the directory write permissions.
All, except configuration.php should be writable.
Is not, you have no writing rights to you Joomla files as administrator.
Installing via Softaculous will give Apache webserver (root), all the rights. If you login in administrator, you login as user and not as root, so you have no writing rights to folders and files.
There are several ways to gain writing rights. Easiest method is set PHP handler to FastCGI, is you are running your website on Apache webserver. It the past, FastCGI was slower and more CPU power consuming compare to Apache, but these days you will notice no difference, if the site is hosted on modern hardware.
Other solution is to install Joomla manually using FTP.. This way, you as user get all the writing rights to files and folders.
Last solution, You also can change (CMOD) rights to your files and folders via your webserver’s control panel ( CPanel, Plesk, Direct Admin, Webmin). I do not know what panel your webserver is using.

Just found something that might have been causing it. I guess it's the menu. When my attempt to import failed couples of times, I decided to delete the menu items all together.

When I went to menu manager, I realized that new weird menus have been created. It seems like the engine was trying to create the menu but with no success. I deleted the menus altogether and afterwards the import worked. I hope this helps.

Может кому и пригодится но нужно включить дополнительный модуль ( ctype) и всё заработало.
Всем успехов!!!
