Hi!

I work in Artisteer & Wordpress almost every day, and would definitely consider myself an expert on the two.

If you're having issues with either or both, I encourage you to respond to this post, and I'll be happy to help you out!

By the way, as a shameless plug for myself, I've created a free step-by-step Artisteer video course that you can see at http://www.artisteertutorial.com -- if you're having issues creating great sites in Artisteer, it will definitely be valuable to you. :-)

Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Zach

Hi Zach,

I'm happy that I found your message...I really need some help with two things.

1. How can I fix the height of my template.
2. I would like to have a different content background image for each page, I probably have to do that after I have exported the the template in the css file....but.

Would appreciate it if you can help me out.

Miranda, thanks for getting in touch!

1. What's wrong with the height of your template? Is it just too short when there's not any content on a page?

2. You're right about needing to export it first. I've created a video walkthrough for you that will show you exactly how to do it! Below is a link to the blog post with the video on it:

Please comment and let me know if it helps!

Lol, John. I was going to be a purist and build it in Artisteer, but as you know, Artisteer's not really made for squeeze pages or membership sites, so I decided against it.

Really?

Actually, you can use Artisteer for both squeeze pages, and membership sites, once you have adequate knowledge to do so. That's the best you could come up with? Wow !

Nice resource Zach.

When anyone sets themselves up as an "expert" on something, it's bound to draw some negative comments, (especially when you don't actually use an artisteer theme for your own site).

But I did check out your answer for changing the post backgrounds above & I'm sure a lot of people on here will find it useful. :-)

Hello Zach
Thanks a lot for your answer.
My code look like this:
<?php if(is_page(76)){ echo ‘<title>Engelsk Toy Terrier</title>’; } else { echo “<title>”; wp_title(‘|’, true, ‘right’); bloginfo(‘name’); echo “</title>”; } ?>

I've been using Artisteer now for a while, along with WordPress, and have yet to find any situation that they can't be used for. One-page sites or "squeeze pages?" Not a problem. Membership sites? Just get a good plugin and set it up! E-commerce? Use Ecwid and cut the drama.

I don't need to say I'm an "expert," simply because I'm sure there are things that would be tough for me to figure out or take time - and I agree that it's always better to simply be humble.

Zach, I'm glad you are confident in your abilities and have no gripe with you whatsoever. If your tutorials help others out, that's great. I personally preferred to learn just by experimenting and have yet to find any scenario that can't be resolved within a day or two.

Thanks Zach!
I do think that a written tutorial from a real and practical expert like you would be very useful for peoples of other countries! Even if it would be less detailed ! We should be very grateful for that.
I'm a guitarist (on the way, wich model is the guitar I see on the back ?) and now I fell in love with bass guitar and desire to learn play it. I'm following a fantastic free course of a teacher of Houston (studybass.com): I learned more on three weeks of this on-line turorial than on months of expensive lessons with real teachers!! A similar tutorial for Artisteer would be great! Anyway thanks for the present tutorial :-)

The additional "code" for ie is usually just a combination of profanity and a sledge hammer. ;-)

Shoot me a link with a description of what's messed up and I'll see if I can help. :)

Hi Zach,

Thank you, it really helps. But there is something else that bothers me:

I made a content with text and a slide. Row 2/3 cel of text and 1/3 for the slide. As soon as I edit the text in wordpress the slide is gone? Do you have any idea what I have done wrong?

Kind regards,

Miranda

Hi Zach:

I have the standard edition. I used a pretty basic template. However, on my Word press Site, I see no headings in a footer to allow me to put all the affiliate, disclaimer and about you stuff. I would really like to fill all that in before I upload.

How can I add it to my theme to reload on my site?

Within Wordpress, if you go under theme -> theme options (after having your artisteer theme as the active theme) you should see an area where you can add some HTML to the footer. Just start your disclaimer and stuff with a <p> tag, and end it with a </p> tag.

Hello everyone, I know I can not afford to do with Artisteer 4, a magazine style theme, the more I have seen many who use this wonderful program, designed for amateurs (like me) it is lacking in a few simple things that should be placed in the program, time, when you use, put the blog in action, using columns for the posts, they are totally mangled, not themselves the way you want, the program was apparently made just for static websites, to embellish the cover of site, which in fact is far from being used to make a website, but a simple blog until they show me the contrary, the program is only for ilustramento, because everything you do after it done in Artisteer 4, has they have a little helper codes for the blog get in your face, at least that, even more, this my humble opinion, most remember, I'm a fan of the program, but I think it gives a bit of a headache for many people. thanks for listening.

Hi Alexandre, one thing to remember is that Artisteer is just for designing themes. All the functionality in terms of columns and unique content display, comes from how you implement it with Wordpress after you build it.

Hi guys, hope you all had a nice holiday!

Michael, just finished your tutorial, here's the link:

Christine, how comfortable are you with php? I know how to do it, but it's no easy task for a newbie. Let me know if you're not intimidated by lots of php code and I can help you with it. :)

Marcello, I've actually run into that myself. In module 6 of my free Artisteer tutorial, I show you how to get around that issue. If you haven't seen it yet, you can sign up at http://artisteertutorial.com.

Garry, I'll be mindful of that. I haven't been told not to do it though, and it's a service that helps users, so I am not especially worried. But I do appreciate the heads-up!

Leslie, I've never used that one, so I'll try to remember to take a look soon and let you know.

Hi Zach, since you offer do much help, would you mind helping me with a small problem. I am using Ver 3 and I want to make my logo printable and well as clickable (got that done). When I print any page I get my usual content but no logo. I am not sure if this is handled by the header file or the css. The site is located @ http://www.pro-website-design.com/syneco.

How can I get the header image resize automaticly om mobile devices?

Have a look at www.redningshund.no

Template made with Artisteer 4 and on a Wordpress installation.

Now the image is 1024 px wide but this will be cut on both sides om mobile units (I beliewe 960 px is max without cutting but on PC's it will be a wery narrow site.
NB: The "Responsive Web Design" Yes/Now" will not do this!

The best would be if the image resize itself down to a minimum with and up to a maximum with. (e.g.: Min 960, max 1160 px)

So I've just started using Artisteer 4, exporting and then uploading into Drupal. My question is when i'm selecting include content in the export option shouldn't I see it in Drupal as it is in Artisteer?? All I seem to get are the header and the styling. No content and all of the extra pages I've made in Artisteer.

Help

Hi Zach,

I browsed and googled a lot few last days, but couldn't find the answer about splitting the static page's content for getting additional separated windows instead the common one for CMS purpose.
I would love to separate text by divisions defining what the third person can edit and what's not. Is it possible? I saw that Joomla had this sorted out, but I would like to stick with a Worpdpress as I already learned few things about it.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Alex
