IE the one most used browser ?

hum I have three web sites on line and IE is always below the 10% of my visitors... So I do not waste my time in making them compatbile !

What makes you think it is not compatible? How did you test it?

Do you have a website that fails, please post the link?

"So yes al templates must be backwards compatible with older browsers!"

It depends what you mean by "compatible" doesn't it.

I am sure that nothing is horribly broken in IE8.

You just sound disappointed because you dont get all the nice drop shadows, rounded corners and other CSS3 effects.

I say "tough"!
Educate your clients that they should learn to live with it.

"pages.....do......NOT.......need........to.........look.........identical........in..........all..........browsers"

My problem with the latest version of artisteer and IE8 is that we are running sites behind SSL. Many things in IE8 cause a security box to pop-up and causes problem with frontend login, etc.

Any ideas on that problem?

So is IE9 old too?, because a lot of the graphics do not look right... As much as I do not like IE also it should be supported, many businesses do not allow people to download other browsers so we are stuck with IE....
Why not have an option to save in IE compatible mode???

What else besides text shadows look different in IE9?

I used PIE to get Art 4 to display properly in IE 8. In IE 8 corners, gradients, and shadow will work using PIE. You just add some lines to style.css You can visit this page http://mistergoodweb.com/ietest1/pie-ie8-fix.html To see how to do this

I agree with a lot of what was said, but you killed your argument when you disrespected the end users. They are your bread and butter. This is the reason why you design websites.

Really?

I'm shocked, for more than a few reasons, as to how wasting our time on Microsoft's arrogant failures on their deliberate, intentional & willful ignorance of Browser Standards continues to generate discussion.

As to Corporate IT departments who don't allow other Browsers? They should be immediately terminated.

As to end-users? For the most part they are unable to type joingotomeeting.com into an address bar.

There is NO answer. Working solutions exist and vary by decision making bodies.

Should you feel a need to respond to my opinions, please be notified that I will not be returning to this thread as:
a) thankfully there's no follow-up email notifications and
b) that's my last time waste on the topic of IE, Standards, Corporate IT and end-users.

I think I'm clear on how I perceive this issue. My apologies if I wasn't!
