Oke to start my question i know artisteer 4 is still in beta and still has loads of bugs.

But im using artisteer 4 on a test joomla site to test the slide header , and so far i had some problems getting it to work, but i got it working now.
The problem i ran into now is that i wanted to make the headers clickable , i know its not possible within artisteer 4 , but this should be possible in the after edit of the code.
So far i got no luck in finding a solution / good valid solution to do this.
Could any 1 help me out on this?

Hey Marcel van veen,

Yes you can do this in artisteer 4.
I have not converted this to joomla but the link below is an HTML artisteer 4 test site and the slide images are linkable.

I can provide the instructions but because this is a beta things change with updates and folks get mad when things break. If your interested in the code and instructions contact me. My email is all over this forum.

Actually this slider is not placed in the header but in content but as you see the slider images are link able.

I will play around with the slider in the header and see what the out come is.

Okay, to follow up I was able to link the slider images in the header.
Here is the example:

Further testing: Internet Explorer has problems.
Fire Fox and Chrome look just fine.

Ok, one last example for shapes that are link able.

Again, ie 9 has a few problems but still workable.

Nice, i see it working on your demo site.
And i also understand that things can break with the updates of the beta,
I had a quick look at your code on your demo site with firebug and i think i got the code that i need to make it linkable.

Going to try it now on my demo site and hope it works.
Else i will let you know already loads of thanks for trying and making this.

I was hoping that a next version of Artisteer 4 would solve some problems in IE 8. I designed a template with a slider in the header and also a transparant background. Both work as designed in IE 9, Firefox and Chrome. However in IE 8 the headerslider does not show at all and the body of the page is no longer transparant.
Really in need of a fix for this since upgrading 500 IE 8 PC's to IE 9 (and Windows 7) is not an option.
I lack knowledge of CSS but maybe someone could give some pointers in howto implement a specific IE8.css that resolves it ?

ie8 does not support CSS 3 and this is in my opinion why this is happening.
If you look at the header / slider with firebug you will more than likely see something like this:

background-image: url(image1.png), url(image2.png);

Create a ie8.css file and enter your styles for image2.png

You need to create a div in the 1st div
I'll see if I can do an example sometime this week. It won't be tonight though.

Shouldent the ie7.css solve this problem?
Else you could try to copy the content from ie7.css and rename it to ie8.css that should work if im right :)

Here is a workaround for ie8 multi background.

The old link where I was showing how to add image links:
The website doesn't show the background images in ie8 and below.
http://demo.artisteertoday.com/art4demoshapes/

In the next link I used CSS3pie which is very easy to setup for multi backgrounds.

One of the downfalls to CSS3pie for multi backgrounds for ie8 is, it doesnt support background-size.

In a later post I will show other methods to use for multi backgrounds.

How do you create the header slider when you begin with a "blank" project?
The only way I can implement a slider is by starting with one of the generated templates...

@Arthur

I use slideshowck for a lot of slideshows, it is free, and responsive. Just set it up and put it into a module position.
