Do you think Facebook is worth putting off all other social networks? I wouldn't be so sure. I just tried using a dating site to communicate - https://www.affairdating.com/married-chat.html It turned out that much more freedom is given there than the FB can give. Usually I choose a topic chat and start chatting. Sometimes I can go private if I really liked someone.
