I see a lot of post's where people want to remove Artisteer's "Created by Artisteer ver 3.xxx". Many people tell those users to edit the output manually with every file after export. Some have said use Notepad++

Well I decided to create a program to make it even easier, for the novice user to advanced, to make their templates their own!

D2-Designs Find and Replace application

With that you can edit all the source contained within a folder and even subfolders with whatever text you decide.

Example:

You can get it at the following link:
http://www.d2-designs.net/software/fnrsetup.zip

Best of all it's free and easy to find via the link above. There is a paypal button within the app for those who think the tool is helpful with a name your own donation ammount. I will develope this program more as time permitts and as Artisteer grows.
I believe that since you purchased the software the Branding should be removed!

Thanks,
D2

To anyone who has downloaded this utility,

There is an update available, run the program>right click on icon in taskbar>Check for Updates... Click Ok and it will download the new version.

You will need to uninstall the current version before installing this one, future releases may not require this action.
More features to come...
Enjoy!

The ability to zip up a folder is in the works

In the new version of Artisteer it creates this "<!-- Created by Artisteer v4.1.0.59688 -->" using PHP, so you must include all PHP files in your D2 find and replace as well. It finds 43 replacements.

Wouldn't it be easier just to remove the line:

<!-- Created by Artisteer v{artisteer_version} -->

from the file page.html in the folder:

\Artisteer 4\Library\Data\Templates\DefaultView\Files

..?

I mean, there's a lot of other references to Artisteer in the generated code but that particular snippet is pretty easy to get rid off for good if you really want to.

You're welcome (You probably want to remove the same line from the .css-files in the same folder.)

Anyone know where the file is in version 3? I tried but it did not work.

Yes removing that line from page.html will remove it completely. IF that's what you want to do. The program was made for a quick solution for those who didn't know how to/don't want to change core files, or to give themselves props in the source code and not on the live site. Such as Artisteer. ;-) Oh and it's free to use .. I've removed that line ages ago with every update, but there obviously was still a need for it .. it's only been downloaded 1,735 times.

@Lynn
Art3 HTML Removal: - This should do it

Artisteer 3\Library\Data\Templates\Default\HtmlExport\Files\page.html

Same for preview mode except it's found in:
Artisteer 3\Library\Data\Templates\Default\Preview\Files

@Lynn

Want to remove the links in the style sheets too?

Artisteer 3\Library\Data\Templates\Default\Common\Files

You can open everything (one at a time) in notepad/wordpad then save it upon exit.

Open the files contained in that folder with notepad or wordpad, and delete what you want. Save it and exit .. open artisteer and export .. all done

Has anyone been able to remove that line under Windows 7?

I can open it but not save.

Even changing the file permissions is not working.

How do you guys save after the edit?

Short of booting into Linux and performing the edit, it was necessary to move the page.html file into the "Documents" dir first.

THEN make the edit (delete as instructed above) and then, with admin privileges, move the file "page.html" back into the "Files" directory.

Annoying but if it removes any reference to Artisteer then it is/was worth the trouble.

Run Notepad as "administrator".
Surf out the the folder and tell notepad to "display all" files. Pick the files you want to edit and then save them.

Yay this works.. All you have to do is delete the readme text and replace the screenshot with your own.

Thanks for the neat software. I think it worked, however I checked with notepad, I think it's gone, but does not replace the first tag with what I want.
Shame it's not portable.
Other than that thanks! :-)

I agree with others, not fair that we pay a lot of money for the software and then get hit with a tag telling people what we used.

It's like buying shopping and having to pay for a bag, with advertising of the supermarket.

Should be plain.

The software is fine, however we should be able to also have a clean canvas to code with no scripts.

We should also be able to add and remove from the .artx file.

I did post a thread about this and it was removed.

Artisteer has lost lots of money from this issue. Firstly potential buyers of their software don't buy it as they realise there is an issue when they take the free trial. And then even users like myself who don't build many websites, but are fed up having to remove the Aristeer name every time are always looking for different software and templates to use.
Perhaps Artisteer think they are the only player in the software industry.
Well maybe one day they will wake up and realise the advantage of giving their clients what they have asked for!
