Same issue here except I'm using the superfish menu block not the drupal menu. It's only showing one menu but I need two like in Bartik.

I'm suffering from the same issue.
In an Artisteer 4.0-generated theme, nothing will show in extra1 or extra2 because both those regions are inheriting from the CSS for .art-nav which specifies font-size: 0;
If I override this, stuff shows up in those regions. But they're not bound to the edges of the menu region like it shows in the block demonstration.
Now, moving back to a theme created in Artisteer 3.0, the extra1 and extra2 regions work as expected. I think 4.0 is definitely not yet ready for primetime. Also, in the theme created by Artisteer 3.0, putting two blocks in the menu region works just fine.

I'm waiting for this as well.
The temporary alternative I'm using atm is the module Menu Per Role:
http://drupal.org/project/menu_per_role
It still creates just one menu but at least gives a bit more flexibility. Looking forward to this being resolved by Artisteer in the near future. I work as a Drupal web designer full time, and almost every project (bar the most simple ones) needs a multiple menu setup.

@Joe,
in your code it says 'dhp-hmeun' - is that supposed to be 'art-hmenu'?
I'm guessing you have changed the CSS prefix here to refelct your theme's name.
