The first site I applied 3.1's Vertical Menu expand on hover to; it worked like a charm. But the last two sites I've applied it to don't work. Obviously I have some conflict in the last two sites.
But where to start looking? What does expand on hover do that might be conflicting with some other aspect of an Artisteer theme?
