The User Guide mentions a Top Menu in Blogger template I wish to make. What is this and how do I use it?

Okay, I was breaking my head over this yesterday. It turns out the TopMenu only shows up in Blogger if you have the Horizontal Menu Source set to "custom" in the Export Options of Artisteer. Do this of course before exporting your template. I found a tutorial on this here:

I've been wondering about this too, so thanks a lot for the tutorial, Shisha. It all worked for me except that whenever I tried to add a new link to the Top Menu, then my site wouldn't come up at all - it would just be a big white page of nothingness. It doesn't make any sense. When I first exported the template, there was the Pages widget beneath the Top Menu for some reason, but I just deleted it. Not sure if that has anything to do with it? Don't think so. If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it because I would love to have the drop down menu feature. For the time being, I've just gone back to the template with the Pages rather than the Top Menu.

Wow it looks really cool Linny! The topmenu isn't turning out as I would like it to be either. for example the formatting doesn't show in IE8.

Thank you Linny for showing me what Blogger is truly capable of.

Gorgeous!

Okay, well after almost a week without being able to solve this one, I offically gave up on the darn Top Menu. I ended up using this tutorial: http://artistutorial.blogspot.com/2011/11/add-beautiful-css-jquery-mega-menu-on.html

I had to do quite a bit of editting the code (for colors, sizes, links), but I think it turned out way cooler than the Top Menu ever could've. If you're going to do it, just make sure along with editing color etc that for step 4., instead paste the code after "<div id='art-main'>" if you want the menu along the top rather than the bottom of your page. Here's mine in action: http://linnyslit.blogspot.com/

I wanted to post this just in case someone else out there is getting fed up with the troublesome Top Menu but still wants to have the drop down capability, like me. If you don't like the exact style of the menu I ended up using, search "menu" on that same tutorial site. It has a few other menu tutorials all with different styles. I hope this helps someone!
