background not stretching properly in certain browsers |

Hi all,
I've finished my site, was celebrating happily when casually informed by someone that essential parts of my background are not being displayed in other browsers, namely IE6 and Mozilla Firefox 3.6, and also on my partners android mobile. This is a big problem as I have the site logo and also phone number displayed in the background above the main sheet.
Any ideas? I would expect this from IE6 but not from firefox! I need to fix this so I can go back to celebrating my completion:)
