You can do it manually very easily after exporting the template from Artisteer as following:

<a href="mailto:you@host.com?Subject=Hello">
Send Email</a>

You could also use Garry's Code above but make the change within Artisteer before exporting.

Select the page where you what the link to appear and select 'html' button from the ribbon and insert the code where needed there.

I am to all intents and practical purposes HTML illiterate, but have an outside understanding of what you mean and I think could do this if I could find this HTML button - where exactly is this please? I have used the Artisteer website designer and done all I need to except for a 'mail to' link and a link to a single PDF document in the website that I want to include - both of which are so far defeating me. I've had a nice message from the help desk people here with similar instructions to this thread, but can't find how I apply them - can someone please post, press this, click that, type XYZ type instructions for me? Thanks

Huge glee - I've worked out the email one - if you drop into right where you would type the text in the object you can write click and select html - I pasted the text above into the box and got the link :-)

Hello.

Candor compels that I mention that I ask the question below on a different thread.

That said, as I have constructed a website (www.heartlandbenefitsgroup.us) and uploaded, I find that my Contact Page does not work properly.

Specifically, no matter how hard, often, much I try to get the email link on that page to trigger the appropriate response, I get a "link appears to be broken" msg. Evidently, Artisteer keep adding 3 characters, "%20", between the words "mail" and "to". Neither the Hyperlink button or going to the html source will correct the situation.

I have a Tech Support question in, but who knows when/if I might get the corrective answer.

Might anyone here have any suggestion(s)? Much appreciated!

I hope this helps; there is no space in the ( mailto: ) call for email. Please find a sample below from

http://www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_mailto

so... your email link would only be mailto:terry@busineplex.com with nothing in the target selection...

SINCE I AM A VISUAL DBASE DEVELOPER, I TEND TO OVER THINK SOME AREAS LIKE EMAIL. HERE IS WHAT I HAVE FOUND WITH ARTISTEER:

1. GO TO HYPERLINK OPTIONS
2. ENTER THE HYPERLINK TEXT LIKE "EMAIL ME" (NO QUOTES)
3. ENTER THE ACTUAL EMAIL CODE WITH NO HTML ENTRY OR EXIT TAGS - FOR EXAMPLE...

mailto:somename@somehost.com?Subject=MySubjectLine

NOTICE THE LACK OF BEGINNING AND ENDING HTML DOGMA, ARTISTEER DOES THAT FOR YOU.

HOPE THIS HELPS ;)
