I want to have a blog on my website with rss feed set up for anyone wanting to know when new material is posted. Set up a blog page and added some comments to see what it looked like. Then I am STUCK. Can't figure out how to:

1. change Author from Admin
2. clicked on edit and nothing happens
3. Added Blogroll in sidebar but nothing appears there but the 10 bogus posts - how do I get these off and my post to appear
4. Added Archive in sidebar and it shows June 2008 - November 2008 and I can't get these off.

Also, I'd like these post to be available as a rss feed but don't understand that function either.

Would someone please direct me to success?

Thanks
Patsy

Definitely in the same place myself. An answer would be so helpful. I am all ready to upload and launch my new site designed with Artisteer but need this issue resolved first.

Can anyone help us please?

To change author from admin you need to edit the post. In the admin section of wordpress, select post then edit post. Near the bottom of screen there is a section called author. Click on the box and a list of authors will appear. NOTE: At the top of the right section of your screen is a section called "Screen Otions" click on that and put a checkmark in the box marked author if it does not appear on your screen.

If you set it up in artisteer to have a feed button on your site then the pages and post should have the feed icon on it and they just need to click on it. If you want to know the link of the feed then just look at the url of your page/post and at the very end just add /feed (http://mistergoodweb.com/tmrealestate/index.php/2011/02/hello-world/feed)

I think you can change what's in the blogroll by clicking on links in your word press admin panel. You can add/delete the info there

To get the Jun - Nov 2008 info off the archive in the sidebar, just go to post in the wordpress admin section and either delete those items dated in 2008 or edit the item and mark it private

Actually I appreciate the answer. When I wrote my comment, I had not at that time converted my HTML website to a wordpress to upload on my site.

So I used Artisteer to design my site and build the multiple pages and then converted to wordpress for blog.

Now I am learning wordpress. I will go into it to see about changing the blogroll. Here is a question for you now. Will changing the blogroll on my wordpress blog change what is showing up as blogroll on my other pages in HTML?

Thanks for any response.

Hello, don't want to start a new thread so...here is the question:

I don't use CMS, I export *.artx -> HTML and can't understand how to make a blogroll work without any CMS.

I have a "blog" page and blog posts created in Artisteer but can't make titles of these posts to get into blogroll.

@ Ilya

Are you using artisteer.net or uploading it to your host as static site ?

I think the easy option would be to copy the URL of posts, make links in sidebar/block and associate them with posts.

You will need blog software, you can't syndicate plain HTML pages in the same way. You install the blog software and link it to the page Artisteer created.
