Embed Google analytics in website pages automatically

It would be great to be able to embed Google analytics in all of the website pages automatically. For example if there was a menu that one could enter the website information in it, like the one already existing for exporting a template, that you could have a box for Google analytics code. So Artisteer could automatically embed the code in all the pages you have, and any new page you make.

I think you might be able to put it in all the html pages. I tried playing around with some of artisteer pages and discovered I could edit page.html in the artisteer directory. In my case it was C:\Program Files\Artisteer 3 (2b)\Library\Data\Templates\Site\Common\Files\page.html I tried it and it appears to work. It' puts the script in the head ofl the pages generated by artisteer Make sure you backup the files before making any changes

we really need this for html websites. ability to put JS before body or in head! it's realy important.

... but the code has to be on each page, isn`t?
and just before the HEAD end-code

It'll be added to each page and this code also works in footer part.

Hello,

I just managed to get it added modifying my template file, in my case (a simple web site), the file is:

\program files\artisteer 3\library\data\templates\site\common\files\page.html

*but* you have to exit Artisteer and launch it again to notice any change reflected.

This way every time I publish the website the code will be there.

Cheers.

Same here JorisP, in artisteer 4.1 it seems to work. Edit the html of footer block, insert analytics code. When i look in source of html pages, i placed it once, but i see it in all !
It inmediatly gave i.e. realtime visitors, bUt the gmail account, analytics set like we want, was there allready.

It's not in the current version. It's in the next release. I was just saying it's coming to a computer near you.

Man they take a long time to update this freakin thing.

where did you place exactly analytics code? i put it in footer in html source, but it doesn't seem to work. Do i need to replace it somewhere?

Hi,

You can try it, but actually the Google Analytics code should be placed in the <head> section of the site. So you can upgrade or edit the exported template to manually insert it before the closing </head> tag.

Best regards,
Tanya

If it is Asynchronous GA code you need to include it before the </head> tag If you're using the old one, then it can add it in the closing </body> tag
