It would be great to be able to embed Google analytics in all of the website pages automatically. For example if there was a menu that one could enter the website information in it, like the one already existing for exporting a template, that you could have a box for Google analytics code. So Artisteer could automatically embed the code in all the pages you have, and any new page you make.

Pasting the GA code above the </body> tag in the HTML of the template as per GA instructions (via the Joomla admin panel) works fine for the top level of the main menu, but not for sub-items nor any other menu. Has anyone found a way to deal with this?

:-(

Still a very tedious option given the power of Artisteer - com'on people wake up and include this feature in the next upgrade.......

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news... but it's not the </BODY> tag you need to worry yourself with, because if it was you wouldbe able to implement the google code via artisteer... it's before the </head> tag

Copy the following code, then paste it onto every page you want to track immediately before the closing </HEAD>tag. hence the problem... ARTISTEER,, PLEASE eliminate even a FEW of the coffee breaks and foozeball games until this is implemented.

I think taht Embed Google Analytics (or any other) code is a "must have option." Please give us this function ASAP.

I think you might be able to put it in all the html pages. I tried playing around with some of artisteer pages and discovered I could edit page.html in the artisteer directory. In my case it was C:\Program Files\Artisteer 3 (2b)\Library\Data\Templates\Site\Common\Files\page.html I tried it and it appears to work. It' puts the script in the head ofl the pages generated by artisteer Make sure you backup the files before making any changes

we really need this for html websites. ability to put JS before body or in head! it's realy important.

ARTISTEER... PLEASE INCLUDE A WAY TO INCLUDE GOOGLE ANALYTICS CODE IN THE HEAD SECTION IN UPDATES!!!!!!!1

THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING, ... ENOUGH TO MAKE US RATE PROGRAM AS DO NOT USE..

Please add Bing too, I think a auto generated site map would be VERY VERY Helpful. Artisteer should take more of the backend work away while allowing for artisteer to be the designer and editor.

Garry

@ Sebastian

Simply right click in footer-> Edit source HTML and paste your GA code there.

Marius

... but the code has to be on each page, isn`t?
and just before the HEAD end-code

Garry

It'll be added to each page and this code also works in footer part.

Hello,

I just managed to get it added modifying my template file, in my case (a simple web site), the file is:

\program files\artisteer 3\library\data\templates\site\common\files\page.html

*but* you have to exit Artisteer and launch it again to notice any change reflected.

This way every time I publish the website the code will be there.

Cheers.

You are only using Artisteer to create 1 website?

Is there somewhere inside Artisteer 4 when using it to generate and update my wordpress theme that I can paste the code so that everytime I need to make a small tweak I do not loose tracking for days trying to work out where and how to reposte the darn tracing code each time - as others have said above this is a hygiene factor and should be a basic facility within the artisteer programme. All I should have to do is to type in my UA-xxx number and it should just happen.!

Poor show artisteer for making this so obtuse and repetitive a probolem for your customers! - we're not all teckkies who just know where and how to hack html files

I should be writing some more on this soon. But here is the best way to resolve the issue. For example say you need to edit the head of your site to add a video. Just create a very simple page with the head edited and use and inline frame in Artisteer. This way you can still edit your theme and never lose your code.

Hello,

is this "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeypJckxJ5U" working?

Do you have any idea?

Thanks George

I found the solution in Artisteer 4,

The folder path is:

\Program Files\Artisteer 4\Library\Data\Templates\DefaultView\Files\page.html

Run notepad++ as administrator to edit. If you put your code just before the </head> tag it seems to work ;-)

This definitely seems like it should be built in to Artisteer, they've got custom CSS rules...

I have finally added the script in the footer under artisteer 4.1 and it works fine ! Afterwards you have nothing to modify (versus 4.0 version).

Once uploaded on your server the results on GA won't whow before 24 hours approximately.

Same here JorisP, in artisteer 4.1 it seems to work. Edit the html of footer block, insert analytics code. When i look in source of html pages, i placed it once, but i see it in all !
It inmediatly gave i.e. realtime visitors, bUt the gmail account, analytics set like we want, was there allready.

It's in the next version in export options! They do listen, sometimes.

oh yes, please please please let this be true - put an end to this crazy time consuming 'edit after export' drama.

Posted: 5/6/2013 Quote message

Oh man... being able to access the <head> would really solve a lot of problems and save time. One little typo somewhere and you have to redo the whole thing...

I really hope they really listened and the next update is coming fast, then we all can celebrate.

Jimmy

It's in the export options, trust me. If they could only release an update more than every 3 freaking months.

It's not in the current version. It's in the next release. I was just saying it's coming to a computer near you.

where did you place exactly analytics code? i put it in footer in html source, but it doesn't seem to work. Do i need to replace it somewhere?
