Do any of the templates at http://www.artisteer.com/?p=affr&redirect_url=http%3a%2f%2fwww.artisteer.com%2f%3fp%3dfree_website_templates
have tableless layouts?

yep, those tools usually get the job done regarding tables (div's included);
HTML > CSS, but PHP > CSS is a bit trickier...
I'd also like to know what tool have you been using?

What do you mean? The markup is the same, unless I'm missing what you're saying.

Hey Clippy,
No, I think you've got it right. I worked with one converter (author suggested to use it with .html documents, but it had an option for .php files, and preserve scripting) messing with artisteer's blog.php, man, what a nightmare. Those dumbass tables never converted right to div's, it was easy for <tr>, but <td> was screwed, and finally when I did it - half of it manually, I lost control over parameters in category blog layout, you know:
• leading
• links
• columns
• bla (if you select 3 columns, blog.php display's one (1)

So I've done something wrong, never figured out what, if you find out please inform me, I'd like to know!

If anyone finds a quick solution for easy convert tables in artisteer /html/ folder, please post!

I really don't get it, why don't they just remove the tables!

Hi,

We are working on Content Layout and Content Styling
that will automantically create DIV based Content structure.

Also Artisteer 3.1 HTML will be more simple without many nested DIVs in Sheet, Blocks, Footer and other elements.

All this should be available in Artisteer 3.1

WTF? When will that be? Artisteer 3.0 is still in RC... or what? :-)

I suspect it might mean that they fixed the "memory issues," and that it was such a drastic fix that it deserved a whole new sub-version number. If that is true, hallelujah! But nice to know they're working on that tableless layout issue; I'm finally starting to get a sufficient handle on it to see the benefits of not using tables, easy as they are to code.

Gosh, I can't sit still, waiting for this release; I'm twitching with anticipation. :-{}

It was only another evening <strong><a href="http://www.westwoodvarastoida.com/vivienne-westwood-rintakoruja.html" target=_blank>vivienne westwood rintakoruja</a></strong> when I saw my neighbor placing on a God-darn gorgeous best that experienced me guessing in which she obtained it from and what producer it belonged to. I occur to acquire a opportunity to possess a fast peek on the artist brand which review Ralph Lauren for the rim of her sleeve.

Well if I'm supposed to only use divs in my designs. How can I make it so those divs look like a table when pulling info from a database file into a spreadsheet?

So I'll need a new div table 5 columns by 20 rows to pull in the data.

I could easily do this with tables, but I not supposed to be using tables. So how can I make all the divs format exactly like the table should look if I was using a table.

You could check 960.gs
It is a CSS framework which makes your life with divs a whole lot easier!!!

Ummmmmmm, displaying tabular data would be a semantically valid use for an HTML table. Am I misunderstanding you? I don't see the issue.
