I posted this in the suggestions forum too but thought I'd post it here too in case you guys had some other things you thought the Website version could use.

Here are some things I noticed the HTML template portion of Artisteer could use. I’m sure there’s plenty more.

Tables: The tables need more flexibility. Maybe the ability to change row and column background colors, add a background image, etc.

Flash: Support for Flash and other multimedia would be great.

Images: How about links like Lightbox to images? Or how about links to images in general. You can add a hyperlink but it’s not intuitive. The window only wants to link to pages and won’t let you browse for other items.

But not to sound like a complainer, I’d like to congratulate the Artisteer team on version 3. This is a huge step over version 2 and I’m looking forward to the final release, especially the Mac release. Thanks guys.

Fail spam comments :) Anywho, why include flash? it's a dying format right now. If you really wanted it, then you can always use an online html editor and add your flash content. I suggest using http://www.easywebcontent.com I use it daily to tweak my pages. Much quicker than waiting for the developers to implement it into the software

Dave, Lightbox is an outdated plugin that has not been updated for 4 years. It's dead and buried.

There are alternatives with shadowbox, colorbox and fancybox.

But what I don't understand is why you expect Artisteer to add all these libraries to the templates? I would rather see their JQuery (1.4.3! - while we're on 1.5.1. today) disappear. It's only used for placement of the banners. No reason to use JQuery for just that. 70KB of JavaScript to place a banner? Thanks, but no thanks.

Mary, it may be a dying format but the point really was that we need support for multimedia items like Flash, not necessarily Flash alone. As it stands, the HTML template for Artisteer is lagging behind the templates for Wordpress, Joomla, etc. The fact that we can't even add a link to an image is something I feel they should address. Lightbox is used all over the web. How handy would that be to have that feature built in? I know I'd love it..

In that case I do agree with the multimedia. I have started to use Artisteer less and less because the templates aren't as good as the newer ones out there

I agree with the marY.
