I've purchased the Standard Version Artistreer 2.5 and made my first html template. When testing it locally on a PC running Vista on Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8 I notice a very distinct and irritating screen switch (white background showing up for a split second and then the page reloads) everytime I click on a navigation menu item. I find this very disappointing. By the way, on IE6 and Firefox the navigation works fine.
Most of the users of my web template are using IE7 or IE8 so I have a problem.
Is this a known issue? Any ideas to solve this?
Thanks
Daniel

I have the same problem. Did you already find a solution or got an answer from somebody?
Thanks,

Simple, don't use IE7 or 8.

I had the same problem, solved it by adding this to the header:
<script src="scripts/external_links.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="scripts/preloadimage.js"></script>
Preload images script
By JavaScript Kit (http://javascriptkit.com)
Over 400+ free scripts here!
Hope this helps with the white background!
Now if someone else can tell me how to fix the fact that on first load, the page seems to load jerkily, that is, not smoothly with some parts of the outside borders appearing to load separately?

I added this code:
<meta http-equiv="Page-Enter"
content="RevealTrans(Duration=0.01,Transition=0)" />
<meta http-equiv="Page-Exit"
content="RevealTrans(Duration=0.01,Transition=0)" />
and it worked for IE7 and IE8, but not for IE9 beta. So just be aware that it might be an issue later.
What would the cause be, because solving the problem would be better than putting a hack in?
I have not experienced this with any of my sites until now that I am using Artisteer. Not that is only artisteer templates that causes theses errors, but there must be a reason somewhere.
Anyone with ideas as to how to fix the issue once and for all can you please enlighten us?
Regards
Ewan

Webmist and Ewan, thanks for your help. I tried both solutions. The one Ewan gave works for my site. But I still hope someone can fix this without this workaround.

I noticed this too. I don't use IE because it sucks, but unfortunately a LOT of people do. I didn't realize it was an Artisteer issue.
Please look at this Artisteer! This can't be good for potential customers looking at you sites.
Thank you very much

Hi everyone!
I'm facing a similar problem on my website, i've noticed that when i use IE9 (maybe the same happens with other versions, but not with Chrome or Firefox), there's a blank background showing up for a split second when my webpage and menus are loaded.
I'm using Joomla 1.5.22, and i've created my template with Artisteer 3.1.
#Ewan, i've visited your website, and it's working ok with IE9, have you changed anything else on the code?
I've tested all the solutions you've shared, and no one has solved my problem

Gary, Roman...I have the same problem since using Artisteer 4. When I use flash in the header it flickers with firefox but not on IE.
Here´s the site:
http://www.bkh-vom-wuemmegrund.de/home.html
Just navigate around the site a bit and you´ll see the flicker.
Is there any solution except to turn off the flash animation?

Just curios, Yvonne Poppen.
What was the fix that Ewan told you?
I have the same problem and I can't find any solution yet.
Any help?
Thanks in advance.
Roger.
