Your header.jpg or header.png is probably not outputting properly. If you check the css file, it's probably called Header.jpg (capital "H"), but the file that was output was header.jpg (small "h").
Try one of two options:
1) change the name of the theme and export it to a new folder
2) edit the name of the header.jpg file to reflect what is in the style.css file or edit the css file to reflect the name of the header image.

Thats exactly what is was! Thanks for the pointers, I just renamed the Header.jpg and got the header back.
I then tested your 1st tip and that worked as expected and the image file names matched the style.css file.

Sometimes FTP cause this error, uploading CMS admin may be quite helpful.

I noticed the same issue but that it was a problem with me. This only occured sometimes though but not always.
However, even though the export option is greyed out you can still export the project from the Ribbon. You just need to click on the option to export to local/ftp and it works perfectly fine.... No idea why it is greyed out form the menu though.

Just wanted to mention to make sure you submit a ticket with All bugs you encounter to the support ticket system so they can address them with the next release. Provide as much detail as possible as well as your environment like osx version, artisteer version, and exact steps to recreate the bug.
I believe the problem is mac users who are experiencing issues are either not reporting them or not providing enough information when reporting them to allow the development team to properly recreate the issues.
Obviously, I know there are people who are submitting like crazy with a lot of detail as well ;)

Try exporting from: Ideas menu item -> Export.
