I don't think the standard edition is THAT expensive. It costs money, yes, but if you buy a couple of templates from a professional designer it would be more expensive still, but with Artisteer you can combine, make and adapt each template to your own needs.

If you think the standard edition is expensive then just buy the home edition, very affordable, and supports HTML & Wordpress.

Otherwise you should start looking for free templates in other places...

Home edition doesn't support Joomla.
I want the standard edition for $49.95. That would be perfect! :D
I have possibles to download the software from torrent sites, but i dont want to. I really want to support artisteer with money and $49.95 is enough i think?
What about a week campaign with a lower price? :)

I heard that they may increase the price in the future, so you may want to buy it before it goes up in price.

Most software that is used professionally is $200 and up so Artisteer is an exception in that it is priced less than this.

Joker, I know how you can get exactly what Artisteer does, AND FOR FREE!!! Not even discounted.

If you're interested, spend a year or so learning CSS and PHP, then spend further hours coding each and every template you ever want. It'll cost you hours and hours, but at least all the tools are free (unless you pay for training of course).

Or... quit whining and pay a very reasonable price for a great bit of software that's in continual modification. The "cost" of Artisteer is a tax deduction and, assuming you're a serious developer, the first job will more than pay for it. How much did you pay for your computer by the way?

Looking at the price of Artisteer and saying that 2 or 3 professionally made templates cost the same cant be matched. A professionally made template is something that Artisteer can never make unless you do some hand coding. Artisteer designs are stereotyped, and if you check the layout, if you have seen one, you have seen all!
So, we CAN NOT compare Artisteer designs with the professional ones available.
Artisteer, we are paying for simplicity of designing thats all, yes the price is high anything about USD75 would be more than enough for the standard version. If more, better get a professional template for about USD40 and charge the client accordingly

thats true when i first saw artisteer i was like or my god thats whats i've been looking for.. since i'm not to good at hard coding websites.

but after a day i was so dissappointed. all the websites came out the same way. only thing u can change is the color .

after all the requests of the users i thaught that the poeple who made this would have had a major update . something really diffrent . but No .. just the same old artisteer ..

Wonder what did they get as reaction in the BlogWorld Expo in Las Vegas sure it wasnt as great as they thaught it would be .....

www.w3schools.com a good place to start if you don't want to pay for anything to do with design :-)

Otherwise I find Artisteer fairly priced. You're not going to get anything ultra-custom unless you learn anyway.
