Artisteer 2.4.0.26594 can't reopen saved file rightly.
For example: you set a title bar background image from a file, then save it.
exit Aritsteer 2.4.0.26594,close computer, then open computer and open the file you saved. you will find out this bug.

Every post I see that sounds like my problem points to the above link but the above link simply opens to a blank message form. Tried searching by the id # 127677 and got nothing but threads giving that link to look at, but there's nothing there.

Can someone repost that solution so we can see it please? Thanks.

Having the same issue as Dan, solutions anyone?

This is the solution. I bet the original template is using an imported image in the header area, or background. And I bet this image(s) are not available to Artisteer. You need to re-import the images, and then you will be able to save the template.

Makes no Difference. Been working with artisteer since the begining and this is the only version with this issue. Solution is to Fix the Problem within artisteer.

Hi everyone,

In my case it's even worse. By just clicking the "suggest idea" button a few times, saving the design and reopening it after I have restarted Artisteer v2.4.0.26.594, the program only takes over some colours of the saved template.

In addition, I opened a template made with the 2.3 version, saved it the with 2.4 version and lost everything. Version 2.4 only opens the starting template with the palm trees and sandy colour, but with my file name.

However, looking at the saved icons at my desk top (Windows Vista), they shows my saved templates. So, I guess they are still there somewhere :-)

I suggest that Artisteer comes up with an updated version quickly, as this is extremely annoying for a lot of people. I can't progress any further currently.

Mark :(

Good to know about this issue. That keeps me from purchasing Artisteer which i now.
Have you already send a bug report?

Michael

Program ask automatically to send error to artisteer, so they should already know . Unless that is flawed as well.

:-@ I spent a considerable amount of time designing the perfect template! Saved the file. After uploading it to my Joomla site I noticed a few adjustments I needed to make. When I went back and opened Artisteer and loaded my saved file almost everything was gone! I had to start from scratch re-defining practically every little detail! What do you have to do, never exit the program and leave the computer always on? I guess I better get a new battery backup first! What kind of program doesn't save all the details you work on?

I have the same problem here.

got about 30 templates designed with 2.3 and now with 2.4 i have to build every template from scratch again!

This is costing me a lot of time and money so i hope this problem will be solved real soon.

Is there something known already or not?! :-@

Nick's solution works for me : I had an imported image in the Header section of my v2.3 template.

Re-specifying the image source solved the problem for me.

I know it's a problem, but I'm happy to use a workaround while Artisteer fix it more permanently.
:-)

Hello Mike,

I have noticed that my saved files contain imported backgrounds. I am not following Nick's solution totally. Can you please describe step-by-step what you have done to solve the problem.

In addition, can I use my saved files afterwards? Artisteer now responds when I try to open my files: "This project has been made with an older version of Artisteer and will be opened in the compatible modus".
Translated from Dutch to English.

Subsequently, the program opens the standard template.

Still no solution to the problem? It is not possible, I'm needing a program like this, but I will not buy so buggy.

I needed needed it too, but ended up whit a delusion.

You can try it, but keep an extra copy of your v2.3 aside in case.

Good luck.

This means they do not have a solution to the problem? :-(

I contacted support about the problem and their answer was:

Hi Carvalho,
Each issue is specific.
I have not seen any issues with Artisteer not saving files.
We had an issue in the past where users would ignore the message box prompting to restart Artisteer and try saving directly after activation.
Artisteer no longer has this issue.

;-)I do not understand why the trial has at least limited storage for verification of functionality.

if you haven't activated it yet how do you know it does not work? I had this problem and fixed it by uninstalling and then running a registry cleaner then installing to a directory other than the default directory. To be safe make copies of your files before you open them. This is a great program and I only see a very few complaints and they keep adding extras.

Hello Tim,

I am up for anything right now. So I am definitely willing to try your solution. Which registry cleaner have you used? Thanks in advance.

Mark

CCcleaner http://www.nonags.com/nonags/diskclean.html found here worked very well for me be careful though you can ruin you install of windows with any registry cleaner. also before you start the uninstall leaves a directory in the program folder delete that too.

Here's what's really sad: The first post on this forum is May 7th! It has been at the top of the activity list under this category. Saving your project (or as is the case, not being able to) is a huge deal. Lots of people here have commented about experiencing this problem. Yet, weeks go by and there's no solution in sight! What's up with that? Is anybody able to successfully save all the settings to a template they create? Or, is it just a few of us experiencing some type of anomily?
