I am interested to upload templates to wordpress to host websites where my clients can access the CMS themselves. I build simple sites, html/css, no backend. My question is how to link the domain name, say www.mydomain.co.uk to wordpress? Reckon it must be real easy. Do I have to host the site that is wordpress friendly?

Wordpress is a bunch of php and other files that get installed on your domain.

You can install it either in the root of the site or in a folder, or in a sub-domain depending on your requirements...
If you install it in the root of the site, then WordPress controls the whole site ( unless you also have a sub-domain for another use - perhaps and e-commerce solution )

Head over to the wordpress site to learn how it all hangs together, the docs over there are very complete...

And most of the famous hosts provide one click for Wordpress.
