Can I make a blog-part inside a ordinary website, and in its frontpage. Either in a separate column, or in and below the permanent content in the same column ?
Or vice versa a blog with (partly) permanent content also on the frontpage ?

Which is easiest and best ?

Simply install Wordpress on your host like yoursite.com/wordpress and provide its link in your HTML website's main menu on front page.

Garry,

That sounds like exactly what I want to do. I know your post is very old, but if you are still around, could you please explain in a little more detail? Or does anyone know? How would you install WP on a separate page? This gives me hope! I think it can be done just have to figure out HOW! Also is there any way at all to have changing content (like first line of most recent blog post APPEAR on front page of html site)? Thank you!

Hi Tina,
are you using cpanel or some other panel?
as there is the option to install the wordpress script on auto pilot so you dont have to do a manual install, it's more suited for designers who are not familiar with the manual method, you can install it into a subdomain or folder or right at the front end,
but if your going to use a normal html page at the front end I would suggest a folder or subdomain.

you can send us a message at message.me@jayrobertcharles.com
and I see if I can help you more

@ Tina

Simply install WP in sub directory as suggest above and link it from a menu button of your HTML site, you can simply right click one of the page from left dock, go to properties and fill the link under URL option.
