I would like to recommend an extremely important feature for future Artisteer development; to simplify the process of creating or adding custom module positions anywhere (especially in the header position) during Joomla! template design using Artisteer.
This capability is one thing that makes Joomla! unique and why so many people are using Joomla!
Currently, adding modules in Joomla template designs using Artisteer is not possible. It can only be achieved manually which is time consuming thus minimising the effectiveness of Artisteer for Joomla! template designers.
I strongly believe that every Joomla template designer will agree with this suggestion and will be eager to have it implemented ASAP.

Dear Artisteer Developer and all,

I would like to buy Standard Edition, but wait until there is a facility to add module on header or make header can customized more. This is very useful feature and make the template different with other...

I was going to make a few suggestions, but I think this includes all of them. To have the ability to add and customize blocks would be absolutely awesome. Organizing the settings would be interesting though. :)

In addition, the ability to also edit the position and styles of blocks could remove the need to have all those default user and banner modules included in each template. Plus, you could TRULY make any layout.

By the way, I really love this product. I got the Standard version just to work on my own sites.

Alcides.

Well I would certainly like a method to add banners below posts in a separate content-width block instead of hacking the code to do so - widgetized for wordpress would be even better!

With a 4th column I think we would have enough positions.....

Wish list for additions to 2.4:

More module positions, especially above header
More than 2 menu positions, add position in footer
Open levels option in horizontal menu
More than one style for blocks
More than one style for sidebar
More than one style for articles
More styling options for Article Headers
Fluid width and fixed depth option
Ability to use picture as background in sheet
Ability to import and use custom borders

I would be happy to pay more for this than Adobe rips me off for Dreamweaver!

I was coming onto this forum to write exactly the thread of this post!

I need to be able not only to create custom positions, but allow multiple styles for blocks. To make a template really stand out it's invaluable to have the ability to do something as simple as change the colour for different blocks.

I've owned this for some time and love the program, but I can say I see why people are waiting for this feature - it's the lynch-pin that will take Artisteer from handy tool to indispensable development package.

ARTISTEER STAFF - Please respond!! Clearly there's a big demand for this - at least acknowledge you're aware, even if you're not going to be able to action it!

So I figured if support won't come to the forum, bring the forum to the support team.

And I'm glad I did - I got a response in literally a couple of minutes - how good is that!?

I put to them the idea in this thread, and here's what they said...

Thank you very much.
Actually we already have all these features in our wish list and our developers should consider them in the future.

The upcoming Artisteer 3.0 version will already have some improvements by allowing Joomla users to define custom Module Class Suffixes.
In the future versions we also plan to add options for creating different block designs within Artisteer.

BRING ON 3.0!!!

Just wanted to add the response I got when I asked if I could post it on the forum...

No, of course I don't mind you posting this.

However I'm not sure if it is necessary to provide such information now, because we don't know when these features will be implemented.

So now you know!

Thanks!

Love the idea! Please add me to vote for this.

I don't understand whenever customers ask for any new feature, Artisteer developers do not take any initiative actions to respond to our request.

We would love to hear from Artisteer on our comment.

No idea how much I'm asking for, but a modular positioning system (not module positions per se) based on the 960 grid system. For those not familiar with this, go here - http://960.gs/ - you will be impressed!

Many Joomla frameworks are now using this.

:-< Seems like this has been requested continuously for the past couple of years without any real response from the developers.

Pity really because it is what really lets the tool down!

PLEASE LET US CREATE NEW TEMPLATES MODULES

yeah hear we are over a year later and not even a responce from Artisteer peeps. that sucks and is sure to put people off future purchases.
It is a shame as the module positioning in Joomla is what makesit great.
Artisteer 3.00 does NOT do it :( it is acool app but not yet great because of these obvious NEEDED improvements
Staff really should answer this thread

Little disturbed that these have not been implemented. The seem to be a pretty basic requirements and have been requested for nearly a year.

I personally would like to be able to add an image slider to Wordpress themes.

What will the differences in version 3 be?? The software isnt 'cheap' so I wont be buying until I see the goods or at least be promised something.
