When I made my template , I opened it in KompoZer which has a live preview. When I finished my page (text , images , etc.) , I went to look to my preview and everything was correct. But when I upload it to my website with filezilla or publish it with KompoZer , I never get the correct page , it's always a white background and some text.
What should I do?

Hi Sanabru,

It sounds like you have not uploaded everything...

I too use Filezilla - just compare what has been uploaded with what is exported and you should spot any differences !

It is probably a missing folder or two.

cheers Dave

May be Kompozer have added some formatting etc.

I always use notepad to edit my pages and design new ones.

I don't realy know what else I have to upload , I usually only upload the page ( e.g. index.html ) .

Hi all,

I am VERY new at this, but trying my best to learn! Garry, could you please explain what that is? I am having the same problem as Sunabru, in that I made my template using Artisteer, then edited the text content of the page with Kompozer, but when I uploaded my fully-designed, ready to go page using an FTP client (Fetch), all I got was a really boring, basic HTML text-only page. What am I doing wrong? Thank you!!!

The export facility creates html files, css files, js file(s) & image files...

You simply upload them all in the same locations they are exported to...

With an ftp folder just highlight them all and select upload ( I use FIleZilla )

In an example I am looking at that I exported a while ago there is a page.html ( that would probably need to be renamed to index.html ).
3 x css files in the same root directory, 1 x js file, again in the same root directory & an image folder which may contain any number of images depending on the complexity of the site ( mine has around 20 ).

After uploading it is quite a simple matter to compare both folders ( local and remote ) to ensure they look the same !

HTH, regards Dave

ps If anyone is still stuck maybe I can organise some example images so you know what to look for !

@ kate

After editing and saving changes in your template try double clicking your page.html to check if it work fine on your local computer or not.
